The course grade will be based on two midterm exams (each 30%), final exam (30%), and homework
exercises (10%). Late homeworks will not be accepted. Questions regarding grades of homeworks/midterms
must be raised within one week from the date the grades are posted to NYU Classes. Grade distribution for
course will be based upon Economics Department guidelines: Deviation of plus or minus five percentage
points is considered within the normal bounds for the following targets: A 29%; B 40%; C 22%; D 5%; F

5%. Students are responsible for all class material discussed in lectures and lab sections, even if it does not
appear in the Powerpoint presentation.
The two midterms are on Oct 7 and Nov 11, both in class. The final exam is scheduled by the university on Monday Dec 21 (8:00AM-9:50AM), in the same room as lectures, for all students - no earlier
or later substitute dates will be provided for individual student for any reason.
If you cannot take the scheduled midterm, you must inform me before the exam takes place, and must
provide a medical note in which the doctor states that there were medical reasons why you ought to have
been excused from the exam (not merely that you were seen by the doctor) or a written explanation of
the extraordinary circumstances together with documentation. If you cannot take the final exam, you must
inform me before the final exam date and apply for an Incomplete; with valid reasons in accordance with
university rules make-up final exam will be given before the deadline set by the university or an Incomplete
grade will turn automatically into an F.
