How can you transfer a WinCC flexible project serially to a panel?

Display part number

Instructions:
For the serial transfer of a WinCC flexible configuration you must make settings on the
panel and in WinCC flexible.
Note:
There are four different cables with which you can make a serial project transfer:

Zero modem cable

USB host-to-host cable

RS232/PPI multimaster cable

USB/PPI multimaster cable (released as from "E-Stand 05" and WinCC flexible
2005 SP1)

Notes:

With Micro Panels you can transfer a project only via a PPI multimaster cable.

Please refer to the relevant manual of each operator panel or Entry

ID: 19109408 for information on which cable can be used for which panel.

If you wish to integrate your configuration PC in an existing PPI network, for

example, you must transfer the network parameters. Please note that the node
address of the PC in thenetwork must be unique.

Settings on the operator panel

The figures below are from the TP177micro and MP370, because not all serial transfer
options are possible with each panel. The illustrations might differ from operator panel
to operator panel, because not all the functions are available for each operator panel.

Settings in "Control Panel"

If you wish to transfer a project using a USB host-to-host cable, you can skip this
point and go directly to Point 2b.
In the case of some operator panels (e.g. TP170micro) the "Transfer" menu is
not in the Control Panel. If this is the case, you can also skip this point and go
straight to Transfer mode (Point 3).
Open the Transfer dialog in the "Control Panel".

( 18 KB )

When using a multimaster cable or zero modem cable, Channel 1 must be
enabled for the transfer. If available (not with TP177micro), you can also enable
the "Remote Control" option for Channel 1.

( 6 KB )
Fig. 02 - Transfer Settings
Note:
The "Remote Control" option permits automatic termination of Runtime on the
panel when transfer is triggered via the development environment of WinCC
flexible. The panel then automatically switches to Transfer mode.

Version D - USB host-to-host cable
Settings in "Control Panel"
If you are using a multimaster cable or zero modem cable, you can skip this point
and go directly to Point 3.
A special driver is needed for transfer with a USB host-to-host cable. This
driver is on the WinCC flexible Installation CD under "CD2 or CD3 > Support >
DeviceDriver > USB >Win2000 or WinXP". More information on how to install
the driver, for example, is available in Entry ID 19142034.
Open the Transfer dialog in the "Control Panel".

Notes:

The "Remote Control" option permits automatic termination of Runtime on

the panel when transfer is triggered via the development environment of
WinCC flexible. The panel then automatically switches to Transfer mode.

Channel 2 is not available on some panels. More information is available

in the relevant operator panel manuals.

Close "Control Panel"

Close the open dialog with "OK".

Also close the "Control Panel".

Switch to Transfer mode.

Settings on the configuration PC

For serial project transfer between panel and configuration computer you only have to
make settings in WinCC flexible. You do not have to make any settings on the "PG/PC
interface" for project transfer.
Note:
In the case of access from a configuration computer via STEP 7 Micro/WIN to an S7200 via PPI, for example, you must select the relevant adapter, e.g. "CP5512(PPI)" in
the "PG/PC interface".

Settings in WinCC flexible

As an option you can also integrate the WinCC flexible project into a STEP 7 project. In
the case of systems that are to communicate with an S7-200 CPU, you need STEP 7
Micro/WIN in addition.

No. Procedure
1

Create connections

In the project tree structure under "Communication" you select the

"Connections" tab.

In WinCC flexible you insert a new connection in the menu under "Insert
> New Object - Connection". Alternatively you can double-click an
empty field in the table in the "Connections" tab and create a new

connection.

Version A - Non-integrated project
Define parameters
If you have created an integrated WinCC flexible project or would like to
integrate it into STEP 7, you can go directly to Point 2b. You cannot integrate
Micro Panels into STEP 7.
Select the relevant communication driver and define the interface and the
network parameters you wish to use. Once you have transferred the
configuration using a zero modem cable, for example, the connection(s)
configured, e.g. MPI or Ethernet is(are) transferred.

Fig. 06 - Connection parameters

( 130 KB )

Note:
Since Micro Panels can only communicate with an S7-200 CPU and only have
an RS485 interface, the only network profiles available
are MPI, PROFIBUS and PPI. For which panels have which interfaces and
communication options please refer to the operator panel manuals concerned.
You can only configure the communication options that the operator panel
selected supports.
Note:
When you terminate the WinCC flexible Runtime and switch to Transfer mode,
you can transfer the configuration at any time to the panel again as long as the
transfer settings on the panel have not been changed.

2b Version B - Integrated project

Define the station
If you are not using an integrated project, you can skip this section and go
to Point 3. Youcannot integrate Micro Panels into STEP 7.
If you have not already inserted the project in the SIMATIC Manager, you can do
this via the menu "Project > Integrate in STEP 7..." of WinCC flexible.

Open NetPro in the SIMATIC Manager. Alternatively you can also open the
Hardware Configuration of the HMI operator panel.

Fig. 07 - Open NetPro

( 135 KB )

Regardless of the cable and transfer method you wish to use for project transfer,
in NetPro and in WinCC flexible you can configure any connection to the SIMATIC
station that is possible with the operator panel concerned and the SIMATIC
station(s) used.
The following example takes an MPI connection to the controller.

In the NetPro dialog (Fig. 08) you double-click the HMI MPI/DP interface of
the "SIMATIC HMI Station(1)".

Click on the "Properties..." button in the Properties dialog window of the

HMI MPI/DP interface.

Mark the MPI(1) subnet of the HMI station then click "OK".
Note:
You can use the "New..." button to add more subnets. Make sure here that
the operator panel and the associated SIMATIC station are in the same
subnet or are connected via a routing-compatible station (only possible
with MPI and PROFIBUS) - see also Entry ID 22255588.

( 69 KB )
Fig. 08 - Connect station

Close the dialog window with "OK".

Save and compile your configuration via the menu "Network > Save
and compile...".

Where applicable, transfer your changed hardware configuration to all the

relevant SIMATIC stations and terminate NetPro.

Via the corresponding subnet you select the station with which the
operator panel is to communicate.

Open the dialog window under "Project > Transfer > Transfer
Settings...". Alternatively you can also open the transfer settings via the
toolbar (1).

In the "Transfer Settings" dialog you select the relevant operator panel (2)
- only necessary in the case of multiple operator panels.

Select the desired Transfer mode (see Table 02). In the case of the
Transfer mode "Serial" you must also define the COM interface and the
baud rate.
Note:

For the possible transfer options please refer to the relevant manual or
Entry ID:19109408.

With the "Transfer" button (4) you can now transfer your configuration to
the panel.
