INTRODUCTION.
REVISION

Teacher shows his/her puppet and asks if theyve ever gone to a


theatre, if they like masks or puppets and if they would like to make
their own puppet showing them a puppet.

WARM UP

Teacher explains what the session and the unit are all about with the
help of visual aids or objects-materials from the unit which might
help. They will learn that they are going to make a puppet and they
will introduce it to everyone. He/She introduces the words of the
materials they need: glue, book, crayon, pencil, rubber, etc.

MAIN
ACTIVITIES

Game: what object am I hiding? Teacher shows the game and then
children play it in pairs. They practice with the materials aforementioned.
Teacher introduces flashcards: sad, happy, excited, bored, good, bad,
explaining the drawing and the feelings linked with the flashcard.
Teacher introduces flashcards: Lesson one explaining in a simple
way the picture and reading out the word. Every word will be said
together with gestures (TPR) or body language to help learn it.
Written form is shown after repeating several times.
Children repeat words and copy gestures.
In pairs, student 1 mimes one word and student 2 says the word. Then
they switch and the second student mimes and student 1 says the word.

EXTENSION

Teacher circles the room and helps children who have problems with
the activity.

Teacher asks them if they liked the activity. They can use thumbs
up/down or words already seen, such as good /bad, exciting/boring.
Students are asked to bring an object they like or dislike for next day.

Teacher recalls words learnt in the previous lesson through gestures,


flashcards and class objects.

WARM UP

Children explain individually why they brought their objects and


teacher suggests an adjective, trying to repeat the ones already
shown, and providing them with some new ones.

Ex: Patri is happy because she's going to Disneyworld. Teacher holds


a leaflet she brought. Body language and intonation reinforcement
on happy.
Ex 2: Patri and Ral are happy. Mauri and Mara are excited

ACTIVITIES

Teacher asks How do you feel? Students reply according to what


they just said.
Children ask their partner how do you feel? They use the material
found in lesson two to cut out and glue/draw the mouth that fits
best the feeling the other student said.
Teacher gives instructions on English, using the words learnt.

REINFORCEMENT.
EXTENSION

The teacher goes around the class with his/her own puppet saying
I feel. he/she will point one male student who would raise his
puppet, the teacher will continue he feels. Then will do the
same thing with girls She feels.. Order can be altered, mixing up
genders should be avoided at first to help students differentiate
between he and she.

same without the help of the teacher.
The teacher points to one student who raises his/her puppet and
children say aloud S/he feels...

Teacher asks them how do you feel today? They answer. Then in
pairs children work on their own, completing the puppets under the
supervision of the teacher.

We go to lesson two. Children customize the template according to


what they look like: glasses, hair colour, etc and find a mouth that fits
with the way they feel today.

Children name their puppet and introduce themselves and their


puppet in pairs. The teacher does his/her own presentation before
the children. I'm... and this is my puppet...

The teacher tells them that today they are going to introduce their
puppet in front of the class.

WARM UP

Teacher uses the blackboard to categorize the ways students feel in


different situations through opposites. Chart will be used to show all the
words related to the drawing/colouring an gluing process.

ACTIVITIES

Children use the following structures that will be presented by the


teacher and repeated by students:
I'm..., I feel... This is .(puppet's name) It feels... I love my puppet!

Children use templates in lesson two to make their final puppet,


improving the final layout in comparison to the previous days. They
can complete it in a free style, colouring, drawing and gluing in an
original way.
