PVTsim Simulator Manual
INTRODUCTION
This program allows you to do accurate PVT EXPERIMENTS in a fraction of the time that
would take to do it in the real lab.
This program is located in our webct site. To work with this you must download the zip file into
your Z drive and unzip it into your own directory.
Once unzipped you will have the following files created in your directory:

To run this program you must double click PVTSIM.EXE and the following screen will appear.
Note that all commands are selected by using the arrow keys (left, right, top and bottom), and the
executed through the enter key.
See the menu at the bottom of the screen.

The fluid to work can be selected from a virtual cabinet that contains 10 different fluids. By
hitting the enter key (note that Select Fluid is highlighted) you will see the following menu.

These samples include black oil samples from recombination tests, bottomhole samples,
separator gases and gas condensates.
The program allows you to decide the system of units either metric or English. You can perform
all the experiments listed on a Reservoir Fluid Studies report but only on the samples contained
in your virtual cabinet.

The program does not generate a printout, you will have to write the results obtained on an
spreadsheet for further analysis.
The tests that can be run are listed in the main menu. Selecting PVT simulation you will see the
following screen.

By pressing the F1 key you can obtain help at any time for the topic that was selected.
We will use this simulator for the remaining virtual labs.
