MLC Katy will bring a
team to the Lunches of
Love WALK OF LOVE
& 5K Fun Run! The event will be held Saturday,
November 14 beginning at 10:00 am. Check-in begins at
9:30 am. This is a family friendly event and includes kids'
activities.

WISHING TREE
TURKEYS NEEDED
The Wishing Tree is now in
full swing, and it has been
determined that we will
need 34 turkeys to be
donated to our families this
year. There is a sign-up
sheet at the Wishing Tree table for anyone willing to
donate a turkey. We will also need
additional freezer space to store
turkeys as they are received, as the
freezer in the Loomis Center will not
hold them all. If you have any
questions, or if you have available
freezer space for us to use, please see
Sue Harrison (713-269-9657), the
turkey committee chairperson. As
always, the Women in Mission are
grateful for your generosity!

This meeting will include approval

of the proposed 2016 budget.
Please be sure to attend.
ALSO, a light sandwich lunch will be served and your
free will donation will be donated to Katy Christian
Ministries in the form of restaurant gift cards for a
Kitchen Is Closed gift basket at their upcoming
fundraising gala. KCM provides a food pantry, resale shop
and crisis center for domestic and sexual abuse.
If you are interested in attending KCMs Nov. 20th gala,
tickets are $50 at ktcm.org and will be held at Westland
Baptist Church from 6:30 9:00 pm.

Tina Hergenrader, MLC member, mom and Christian
author.
Once again the event will be in the
Welcome Center and includes dinner
and dessert for only $10 per ticket.
Tickets are on sale beginning today in
the Welcome Center.

NORRIS MIERTSCHIN
TO BE HONORED
Many of you know Norris and his
smiling face but you probably dont
know his military stories. Bravely
he served in three of the four major
battles to save France, and the rest
of the world, during World War II.
To honor his service, Norris will be
awarded the medal of Knight in the
French Order of the Legion of
Honor at a special ceremony on
Veterans Day, Nov. 11th at 3:00 pm
in Fredericksburg to which you are
invited. Notes of congratulations
and thanks can be sent to Norris
