FIELY A. MATIAS
Snow White is bored, depressed and so over whistling a happy tune. Belle is slowly
being driven insane by chattering inanimate objects. The Little Mermaid longs for the
days of frolicking in the ocean . . . before she got two legs. And Cinderella, in her
attempts to keep trim and fit for her prince, finds herself more than a bit hungry!
This angry band of warbling royal friends musically storms the castle in this
hilariously clever take on your favorite fairy tale princesses!
The highest-selling show of the 2011 Orlando Intl Fringe Theatre Festival returns for
a Limited Return Engagement to Orlando, FL. Since playing to Sold Out Houses in
NYC (workshop), NJ (as winner of the 2010 NJ Playwrights Contest) and Orlando
(as the Winner of the Orange Venue's Patron's Pick Award and Producer's Award), the
show has also played to a Sold Out Run in Syracuse, NY and Sarasota and now
making its Philly DEBUT as well!

"A fantastic musical that is sure to be the next big thing!" - Disney Dispatch

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN
SNOW WHITE
The original 'Bitch of the Kingdom', is the leader of this pack of princesses. She's a brassy,
sexy woman, strong and in control (Or so she thinks). With her big voice, and matching big
personality she has a big problem with Disney's treatment of her and her friends. To that end,
she has organized tonights musical protest featuring the band of angry princesses. She is the
self-appointed leader and often feels in control of the evening ... even though shes not. She
does not suffer fools gladly and is exasperated by the fact that she often finds herself
surrounded by such well-meaning nitwits as Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella. She carries
herself with confidence, more than happy to captain the legion of strong-willed princesses we
are about to meet. Ever-patient. Mother figure.
CINDERELLA
She is the good girl, the level-headed, responsible one. However, this perky and quirky
princess is the living epitome of the adage 'Old habits die hard.' A little OCDloves to clean,
a bit of a neat freak, control freak, diet freak; always in Snow Whites shadow, aims to please.
An innocent, slightly ditzy. She constantly attempts to please Snow White, her idol, but
would, at the same time, like to step out from the shadow of being the second princess. To
that end, she finds herself doing all the chores throughout the show: moving sets, sweeping
the stage, washing the costumes, etc. She is both in control (her costume pressed to within an
inch of its life) but always on the verge of losing total control (see All I Wanna Do Is Eat.).
At times, she has a slight look of desperation, knowing that, like Snow White, she too has
married the first man who has come along. Throughout the show, she struggles to hold onto
the notion of happly ever after.
SLEEPING BEAUTY
A bull in a china shop! Shes a calls-em-as-she-sees-em kind of woman. Not terribly dainty,
shes been asleep for 100 years and, awake now, not in the mood to waste one single moment.
Often bored, nodding off, she does what she can to stay awake (i.e. lots of Starbucks).
Sleeping Beauty may not be the sharpest princess in the kingdom but she's definitely the
funniest! Physical comedy defines her. She is the Curly to Snow Whites Moe and
Cinderellas Larry (Three Stooges). Possible to be played as a NON-SINGING role as in
the original production if the right comedienne could be found (but would prefer to cast a
singer).
BELLE
In classic lit, Belle is a smart, witty French girl (studious in appearance) who loves books and
the simple beauties of the world. Soon Disney came knocking and Belle found herself talking
to inanimate objects and waltzing with a well-dressed, over-sized Rottweiler in need of a
haircut. There is an air of wonder and excitement about her and yet an anger and sarcasm
brews beneath her cute, perky exterior. She enters 'DISENCHANTED!' as a quirky, wired,
(okay INSANE!) young woman who finds herself in need of psychological help. A bit on
edgeshe is so over the fact that her film portrayed her as a crazy girl. Furthermore, her tale
holds her up as the pin-up girl for bestiality (as she has a thing for The Beast). It drives her
crazy that she looks so crazy! And that feisty cynicism and resentment is aboutto be
unleashed. This girl is a case study unto herself -- Freud would have a field day!
What do Jasmine, Esmeralda and Tinker Bell have in common? None of them were the
leads in their Disney movies. Each one of them supported, stuck by and suffered through
the foibles of their 'man.' A man who had no issues stealing these ladies' limelight.
FA MULAN
POCAHONTAS
The ultimate exploited girl: a woman of color (Native American) who finds herself sexed-up,
slimmed-down and in a skimpy costumeall to sell to movie tickets. And whats with her
crazy hair? Her hair is wild and messy, filled with leaves, candy wrappers, Disney tickets,
popcornthings youd find in a theme park. This historical character is about to reclaim her
true story!
LITTLE MERMAID
Sure, The Little Mermaid has made some choices she's not happy with . . . Melancholy and
forlorn (a sad and regretful Bette Midler-type) she has realized that she gave up everything most notably trading in her fin, her family, her friends, her entire underwater life and her
identity - just to net a man. Well, for a prince and a pair of legs. Other than that, she's pretty
upbeat! A true innocent caught up in her own wants that have led her down the wrong path.
She wears snorkel gear, floaties and flippers. These accentuate her wanting to return to the
return to the Seven Seas, to dive and breach with the humpback whale.
RAPUNZEL
A squat, powerhouse of a German beer wench who refuses to give into the American
capitalism of Hollywood and, as a result, speaks and sings with a heavy German accent. She
abhors the exploitation of her likeness as its plastered on T-shirts and tea sets everywhere
and in return, she receives Not VOne Red Cent. Vat up vith that? Her hair is tied up into
two circle braids; She sports a large mole on her right cheek and thick uni-brow.
FROG PRINCESS
African-American; This latest addition to the 'Bitches' family has perhaps made the biggest
change as her story went from Grimm's to Disney . . . she changed color! She is the princess
who has finally gone black! She is smart, witty and filled with attitude wondering why it took
Disney so long to include her in the princess family. Feisty, fabulous and powerful (yet very
demure at first), girls gonna bring the house down! Its about time animated movies got a
princess of color. Shes getting a moat with a drawbridge and boat but shes keeping her pink
Cadillac! You go, girl!
