3). On the wrong side of the duvet back, measure and mark with a pencil 17 in from each bottom corner in the
seam allowance.
putting it together
1. Pin the front and back of the duvet cover, right sides together, at the bottom. With the back panel right side
up, sew from the right-hand corner to the 17 mark, backstitching at the end of the seam. Clip the threads
and sew the rest of the bottom of the duvet closed from the other 17 mark to the corner, making sure to
backstitch at the beginning of the seam.
2. Follow the manufacturers instructions for installing a lapped zipper, with the overlap on the top side of the
duvet cover. Make sure to open the zipper halfway so you can turn the duvet cover right side out later.
3. Pin the remaining 3 sides of the duvet front and back, right sides together, and stitch all around, pivoting at
the 2 top corners. Make sure to overlap the bottom seam or backstitch at the beginning and end of this long
seam.
4. From the ribbon, cut 4 lengths each 18 long. Fold them in half and pin 1 ribbon, through the fold, at each
corner of the duvet cover. Hand stitch in place at the fold, making sure your stitches wont show on the right
side of the duvet cover.
5. Flip the duvet cover right side out and press the outside seams flat.
6. If the comforter doesnt have buttons or loops on each corner, hand stitch a button on each corner. Use the
ribbons to tie the duvet cover to the comforter.
Cozy up with your little one and read a good book while wrapped up in the new linens.
