Case for Critical Analysis
Central City Museum
As the future director of this new museum that is important
for the community. I need to follow The Organizational Planning Process so I can achieve my goals successfully. These are: 1) Develop a plan 2) Identify the problem 3) Plan Operations 4) Execute the plan 5) Monitor the plan. Various factors affect the success of a business, including the knowledge and abilities of employees, technology, customers, competition and even the political environment. As a director, I have to consider these factors, and more, as make plans for business growth. Organizational development helps employers determine which processes can improve their businesses in ways that will benefit everyone from their employees to customers. Based on the mission and vision of this museum, which is to offer resources to the community the community, a good service I need to focus on the functions that museum can provide for everyone: community children and adults, undergraduates and graduate students in art education and art history. I would focus on how this museum would be a major community resource and to concentrate on training students in art history to support scholarly research. First, I would promote visits from the public schools in the area, especially for those who do not have easy access to arts exhibitions. This would work by having occasional controversial exhibits including different ethnicities, religious groups, cultures etc. This way we could attract people of
different beliefs, minds, ages and ethnicities. We also could
have the attention of major museums from other parts of the world. They could sponsor the museum or they could bring their own exhibitions, which would save money and also will increase our popularity. Since this is a history museum, history students can develop their knowledge by integrating the museum with the academic faculty. The goal is that undergraduate and graduate students can show their skills by teaching. We do not have the artistic resources or the financial resources to serve the community at large, so it would be an awesome opportunity for students to improve their skills by showing what they have learned about history so far. Liberal arts students, engineering students, and architecture students can participate as well. With this mission, vision, and goals, the museum would increase the stature of the university nationally. The plan will be executed as soon as possible, and with the passage of time, we are going to monitor it and fix problems that can occur, like not enough students to teach at museums or not enough sponsorship from international or bigger museums.
