Q3 (Form 4)

Q4 (Form 5)

2005

Chapter 4: heat (gas law)

Situation: pressure of the tyre changed (increased) after a long
journey but size of the tyre remains.
Relationship: temperature and pressure (pressure law)

Chapter 3: electromagnetism
Situation: Bicycle bulbs gets brighter when the dynamo turns faster.
Relationship: rate of cutting magnetic field and induced current or
e.m.f. Or
Speed of cutting magnetic field and induced current.

Recommended experiment: Pressure law., mass and volume

constant.

2006

2007

Recommended experiment:
Induced current from a magnet passing through a coil of wire at
different speed.

Chapter 2: force and motion (inertia)

Situation: Top with metal on it (bigger mass) more difficult to stop
compare with the one without metal on it.
Relationship: mass and inertia.

Chapter 1: wave
Situation: water droplets drop into water with different droplets per
second.
Relationship: frequency and wavelength.

Recommended experiment : inertia experiment (plasticine and

hacksaw blade)

Recommended experiment: ripple tank with fixed depth and water

wave generated with different frequencies and measure the
wavelength produced.

Chapter 5: optics (refraction)

Situation: 2 opaque (not transparent) cups, with a coin in it. A
student can see the coin in the cup with a higher depth of water in
it.

Chapter 2: electricity
Situation: water becomes warmer when the control knob is turned.

Relationship: apparent depth and real depth.

Recommended experiment: heating same volume (or mass) of

water with different current. Time taken for the water to boil or
reach a temperature will indicate the rate of heat released.

Recommended experiment: apparent and real depth experiment.

Relationship: current and heat released.

Chapter 3: forces and pressure (pressure)

Situation: wheelbarrow sink deeper when it is loaded.
Relationship: force applied and pressure (area constant)

Chapter 3: electromagnetism.
Situation: a mixer will spin faster when the current is bigger.
Relationship: current and electromagnetic force

Recommended experiment: plasticine (or sponge will be better)

with sink according to the amount weight applied on it.

2009

Chapter 2: forces and motion (Hookes law)

Situations: A worker carry a gas tank and then 2 gas tank. The
absorber spring compress more when there are 2 tank on it.
Relationship: length of the spring (extension or compression) and
load.

Recommended experiment: experiment on Fleming left hand rule.

The displacement move by the copper wire will indicate the
strength of the electromagnetic force.
Chapter 3: electromagnetism (electromagnet)
Situation: electromagnet can attract more when current is higher.
Relationship: current and electromagnet.

Recommended experiment: Hookes law experiment.

Recommended experiment: Different quantity of current (from 1

-5A or 0.5 5 A) flow on a solenoid of fixed turns, the number pin
attracted will indicate the strength of the electromagnet.
