REMARKS

Waiver has been submitted to permit the discharge of Exit Staircase S3 through the
covered circulation at ground level of the MSCP. The Waiver Decision shall be
forwarded once available.

Under Fire Code 2013 CL 2.3.3 (c)(ii) & (iii):


In the case of a Purpose Group II residential building, at least 50% of the
total number of exit staircases shall discharge to the safe exterior space
opened to the sky and the remaining exit staircase is allowed to be
discharged onto the ground level covered circulation space.
There shall be no unprotected openings of occupancy area within 3m
from discharge point of the exit staircase (both internal and external).
This distance can be reduced to 1.5m if the unprotected openings are
along the same plane of the staircase exit.
Based on the above CL 2.3.3 (c) (ii) & (iii), the discharge is compliant as the
other staircase fully complies with discharge requirements.
As the void deck area is of no occupancy use, the discharge can be allow into
the void deck.

Under Fire Code 2007 CL 2.10.2 Exit and directional sign


In all buildings or parts of building other than those belonging to
Purpose Groups I and II (residential floors only), the location of every
exit on every floor shall be clearly indicated by exit sign and directional
signs to comply with the requirements in Chapter 8.
EXIT Signs are not required for the Residential Blocks.
