3. LASSO TOOL
Lasso Tool is probably the easiest to use and understand because you simply drag
a freehand selection around the object or area you want to select, in a similar way
to how you would outline something on a piece of paper with a pen or pencil. With
the Lasso Tool selected, your mouse cursor will appear as a small lasso icon, and
you simply click at the spot in the document where you want to begin the
selection, then continue holding your mouse button down and drag to draw a
freeform selection outline.

4. Polygonal Lasso Tool is hiding behind the standard Lasso Tool in the Tools
panel. To get to it, click on the Lasso Tool, then hold your mouse button
down until a fly-out menu appears showing you the additional tools that
are available. Select the Polygonal Lasso Tool from the list.

Cropping reduces the size of a picture by removing vertical or horizontal
edges. Cropping is often used to hide or trim a part of a picture, either for
emphasis or to remove unwanted portions.
