Overview of Amazon Fees
Similar to eBay, Amazon makes their money on fees. When your item sells,
Amazon collects the sales price and shipping costs from the buyer, deducts a
referral fee of 6 to 25 percent of the product price depending on the
category that you sell under, a variable closing fee, and a per-item fee of
$0.99. The $0.99 per-item fee is waived for Pro Merchant Subscribers which I
will go over later on.
Here's how it works:

Referral Fees
Referral fees range anywhere between 6% and 25% depending on the
category/product you are selling. This chart shows you the referral rate for
your product of which will be deducted when your item sells.

Just like the referral fee, the variable closing fee is based on the product you have
sold on Amazon. Every category/product has a different variable closing fee and
relate to this chart to better understand what you will get deducted from your
sale.

Fixed Closing Fee
Amazon charges a final fixed price of 0.99 per item when it sells. This basically
means that it costs 0.99 to list an item with Amazon. If however, you subscribe
and have a pro merchant account, which is 39.99 a month, this 0.99 fee is waived.
This type of account is great if planning on selling at least 40 items a month in
which equals out, and if sell more than 40 is the cheaper way to sell on Amazon!

Shipping Fees (Shipping Credit)

When you fulfill orders yourself, Amazon sets the shipping fees charged to
buyers for Books, CD and Vinyl, Video, DVD products and for all media
products sold by Individual sellers. They charge these shipping fees based
on the product category and the shipping service selected by the buyer, and
then credit the amount to you the seller.
For products that Amazon fulfills for you (FBA), they will charge for
processing each order, for packing each unit in the order and for the weight
of each unit in each order. Rates vary based on product type, size, and
fulfillment channel.

Amazon charges fees when using FBA, for weight of product, packing product, and
processing the order. Rates below apply to Standard-Size Books, Music, Video
Games, DVDs, and Software with a selling price of less than $300. Standard-
Size includes any packaged Unit that is 20 lbs or less with its longest side 18" or
less, its shortest side 8" or less, and its median side 14" or less. A product
exceeding any of these dimensions is considered oversize and different fees apply
in which are shown in the second chart.

Cost Per Click Fees

What cost per click is, is the advertisements for products that sellers are
offering, usually on side of any Amazon page. This is a great way to drive
traffic to your website, and sell products directly from there rather then
Amazon.

There are no monthly fees and no minimum spend required. You are only
charged when an Amazon customer clicks on your ad and is taken to your
website. You control not only the maximum price you are willing to pay for
that click, but also your daily budget. This allows you to measure the return
on your advertising investment and track your budget accordingly.

to help grow your website. Amazon's trusted shopping experience and
product pages ensures you only pay for qualified customers. You don't pay
for customers to read about and view your products on Amazon; you only
