Chipping and Scapping

Chipping and painting red primer for two coatings and painted green finished coating on forecastle deck.
Chipping corroded portion on stern shell plates and painted black and re-painted white on ships name.
Chipping and scrapping of rusty windlass drum and bollards on poop deck.
Chipping, sandering and painting red primer on windlass. Chipping cargo winch of No:2 derrick.
Chipping, scrapping and continue painting green on bridge wings.
Chipping corroded and rusty stanchions and painted with red primer.
Chipping and painting red brown port side bulwark.
Chipping of port side huge antenna post, provision boom with its associated fittings, handrails, stanchions,
floodlight posts, foundations of lifebuoys & liferafts, drain pipes, ventilation heads & trunks, foundation of
stern navigation & anchor lights on top of a/c room, watertight doors, base plating on nav.bridge deck, slopping
ladder, skylight, gooseneck vents, both wings, side-front-aft walls, port lifeboat in conjuction with its fittings,
bunkering hose davit, lamp posts, electric boxes, rope storage chest to be continued.
Weathertight door and hatch of A/C room have been chipped, due to its heavily corroded and worn condition,
gasket retaining bars of A/C room hatch cover plate have broken/holed.
During chipping two holes have occured on top plating of A/C room, those holes have been temporarily patched
with ramnek.
Spot chipping of grand mast, antenna post, handrails, stanchions and base plating on compass deck comped.
No:2 crane platform to be continued chipping/scrapping.Locally rusted area of No:1 crane jib to be chipped.
Antenna pipes on compass deck, mushroom vents and drain pipes chipped, wire brushed then painted with
primer.
Loose rust and paint scales in all holds to be scrapped.
Port and stbd. accommodation ladders to be chipped and painted completely.
Port and stbd bulwark to be touched-up as long as sea condition permits.
Marking on accommodation block and deck to be continued.Plimsol marks to be painted with white paint.
Touching-up of stbd. bulwark to be started from forward.

Miscellaneous
Cemented main deck port side alleyway. Cleaned inside of aft peak then touched-up cement wash.
The funnel flaps closing devices requires labeling.
The balls of the drain traps on all the cargo holds to be replaced.
All watertight doors on deck and doors around the accommodation block except one door- to be locked; thus,
one route of access to the accommodation from port side to be arranged.
All lifebuoys, lifeboat equipment, fire hoses and nozzles collected and stored in the empty cabin on the
captains floor as a precaution against robbery.
All collected safety and fire fighting equipment put back into their proper positions before arrival to .........
No:3 & 4 hatches opened to check the situation of cargo; top of the cargo to be discharged in Callao swept.
Training regarding the safe operation of lifeboat launching appliances and the role of each person in an abandon
ship situation given to all crew.
Cross-joint cleats tightened with new wooden wedges.
All cleats of hatch covers unlashed and made ready for discharging operation.
Anti-twisting line ringing made for No:3 crane and kept nearby for immediate use.
Spare parts in the bosun stores to be recounted and put in order.
Two pcs of 10,2 m. long and 10 mm dia lifeboat lashing wire vinyl cover spliced on top of both davits.
Anti-twisting line to be prepared and rigged on the No:3 cranes cargo fall block.
Garbage on poop deck has been sorted and then cat. 4 and 5 waste disposed into the sea.
All windlasses drain resorvoirs and other drain reservoirs absent drain plugs completed and plugs fixed with
nylon ropes.
Four pieces of 120 cm long new tricing pendant lines with both ends thimbled to be made.
