ALTIRIS TEAM NOTE: It's required to change the Altiris Standard Download Path folder for one
shorter (i.e. C:\AltirisSWD), this is in order to install/uninstall the application properly.
Installation (Wise Script)
Install_Microsoft IE 11 X64 X86.wse (Wise Script)
1. Setup log file
LOG= %SYSDRIVE%\Windows\Hanover\Logs\Install %APPNAME%
2. Validate the OS installed in the system.
3. Check if package is installed in the machine by verifying customized registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HANOVER\%APPTITLE%\
- If application is installed, abort installation request.
- else, continue
4. Check if application is installed in the machine by verifying its registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer (ValueName: svcVersion)
- If application is installed, abort installation request.

- else, continue
5. Check if Google Chrome Frame is installed.
- If installed, abort installation
- else, continue
6. If X86, check if the following components are installed:
* Update for Microsoft Windows (KB2670838)
- If not installed, install it using the following command line:
%SYS32%\wusa.exe /%INST%\Source\x86\Prerequisites\%SETUPFILE1% /quiet /norestart
- Else, check if the following components are installed
7. If X86, execute the following command:
%SYS32%\wusa.exe %INST%\Source\x86\IE11-Windows6.1-x86-en-us.exe /quiet /norestart
- Else, execute the following command:
%SYS32%\wusa.exe %INST%\Source\x64\IE11-Windows6.1-x64-en-us.exe /quiet /norestart
in order to perform the Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 installation.
%SYS32%\wusa.exe %INST%\Source\x86\%SETUPFILE8% /quiet /norestart
%SYS32%\wusa.exe %INST%\Source\x64\%SETUPFILE9% /quiet /norestart
in order to perform the Security Update for Windows (KB2929437) installation.

9. Edit registry keys:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\MAIN\
EnableAutoUpgrade (DWORD= 0) in order to disable the installation of new versions
automatically.
&
StartPage (String= http://web.hanover.com/thg/index.html) in order to establish Hanovers
homepage.
10. Create Active Setup.
11. Update customized registry key with the appropriate status (Installed):

Active_I.wse (Wise Script)

Install active setup is in charge of the following:
1. Edit registry keys
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\MAIN\
StartPage (String= http://web.hanover.com/thg/index.html) in order to establish Hanovers homepage.
Uninstall_Microsoft IE 11 X64 X86.wse (Wise Script)

1. Setup log file
LOG= %SYSDRIVE%\Windows\Hanover\Logs\Uninstall %APPNAME%
2. Validate OS installed in the system.
3. Check if package is installed in the machine by verifying customized registry key:
- If application is not installed, abort uninstallation request.
- Else, continue
4. Check if application is installed in the machine by verifying its registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer (ValueName: svcVersion)
- If application is not installed, abort uninstallation request.
- Else, continue

%WINDIR%\Sysnative\wusa.exe /uninstall /kb:2841134 /quiet /norestart
in order to perform the Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 uninstallation.
6. If X86, delete registry key and value of:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\MAIN
EnableAutoUpgrade
- else, delete registry key and value of:
EnableAutoUpgrade
&
Update registry key:
Start Page (String: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=69157)
7. Update customized registry key with the appropriate status (Uninstalled):
8. Close script.
NOTE: Not removing Installation Active setup after uninstallation in order to keep
http://web.hanover.com/thg/index.html as the homepage.
Post-Installation
Perform final review prior to saving Package.
Record any additional information or actions that may be required:
A full system reboot is mandatory in order for the Microsoft Internet Explorer
v11 to complete its installation and uninstallation processes.
