The intro of the song consists of specific

clock ticking which will allow us to
represent the surreal element. In this
short intro which lasts 23 seconds we will
introduce the characters location and
emotions. We will use medium close-up
in order to portray the actresss facial
expression and movement. This as a
result will focus the audiences attention
on the main aspect of the video, which in
this case is the female actress. During the
introduction we will then move onto an
Over the shoulder shot which will allow
us to capture the location which the
actress is moving towards. This as a result
will emphasise the surreal location. The
introduction will consist of four shots with
the third being a establishing/wide
shot in order to portray our idea of the
actress falling asleep on a deserted
location. To construct the shots into a
whole we will use rather fast paced
cuts. This will as a result follow the
dance music codes and conventions due
to them mainly portraying energetic
feelings which are captured by the
transitions. Our deciding shot of the
introduction involves a high angle shot
which will portray the actresss actions of
actually laying down and falling asleep.

The next scene portrays the character

entering her dream which continues the
idea of her falling asleep from the INTRO.
The dream will be portrayed in a surreal
view due to the scene cutting straight
into the actress being upright and focused
on the cameras lens. We will keep the
location
the
same
(Bunny
park
Hanwell) which will reinforce the surreal
element. IN order to convey the beginning
of the dream we will use a zoom in shot
which will focus the video on portraying
the model herself. This will then cut into a
arc/tracking/jump cut
around the
actress in order to focus on her loneliness
and location followed from the intro.

Music:

At 24 second into the music, we would

include a fast wide shot of the actress
beginning to run through the open space.
The sense of confusion will be highlighted
through the movement. The actress will
be looking back as if she was chased or
scared. We will follow this scene by a
medium close-up shot representing the
model looking back to reinforce the
feeling and pace. Further movement will
be reinforced by a third (medium closeup) shot of the actresses legs. This will
show the constant movement portraying
the idea of running away into the
unknown.

The songs pace picks up a lot at this

point, as the lyrics begins to kick in. The
begging
of
lyrics
depicts
the
transformation of the location into the
Bunny Park Maze. The change of
location will be portrayed via a Point of
View shot, portraying the characters
disorientation. This scene will be followed
by a low angle shot referring to the line
I
see
what
youre
wearing
implementing the theory of the visuals
interlinking with the lyrics. The next few
seconds will be followed by a tracking
shot of the actress walking towards the
camera. This will be captured in a
tracking shot with a lower angle. The
last shot in this scene will depict a closeup of the actresss facial expression and
hard breathing. This will interlink with the
lyrics Forgive me for breathing.

I see what youre wearing, theres nothing

A high angle long shot will be used to

see the actress leaning and sitting down
against the wall in the maze. This will
portray her being tired of constant
movement and running away from the
unknown. This will be followed by a
close-up shot reinforcing the negative
emotions of anger and misery. On top of
this, we will include a medium shot
pointed diagonally at the actress,
portraying her putting her head inbetween her knees to portray negative
emotional state of claming up.

In order to construct a scene which will

interlink with the pre-chorus of the song
we have chosen to use a double point of
view shot across two scenes. The use of
double point of view shots will allow us
to construct a smooth transformation
between locations. These shots will
involve the actress looking up to the sky.
As she will bring down her eyesight, she
will appear in a different location (Ealing
Parking Lot). This point of view motion
will be followed by a fast wide shot in
order to establish the new location, which
will additionally reinforce the loneliness of
the actress.

Were beautiful now (x2)

The first chorus of the song will be

constructed of 8 various shots. The first
two shots will portray a jump cut in order
to show the dynamic nature of todays
youth by the actress running up the stairs
and kicking the door open in order to
escape. This shot will be followed by a
second jump cut/tracking shot of the
actress running towards a fence and
energetically jumping onto it. By this we
will signify the girl being trapped and
isolated, not allowing her to progress. We
will follow this shot by the inclusion of an
extreme close-up in order to show the
strength and determination by the actress
grabbing onto the fence. Following the
previous shot, we will include a medium
close-up to tilt which will portray the
actress searching for an item in her
pocket, reinforcing her loneliness and
confusion. This will follow by a close-up
shot of the actresss hand where we will
portray her taking out the item. The
purpose of the last two shots will be to
introduce the change of location by giving
the impression of the actress looking at
the train tracks via a close-up shot. This
will then change by the use of a cut to
the next location (Underground) which
will include a medium shot showing the
actress standing on the platform.

We might not know why, we might not know

In between the first chorus and the 2nd

verse there is a significant buildup which
leads onto a sudden musical drop. In the
buildup we want to portray the
stereotypical view of the youth travelling.
We will include rather calm scenes such
as medium shots of the actress sitting
down in the train, looking out of the
window, standing within a crowd of
people and walking out the train door. We
will additionally include an establishing
shot of people travelling along the
moving stairs in order to reinforce the
loneliness, rush and the journey itself.
Towards the end of the buildup, the
melody gains in pace therefore to reflect
this we want to include a low angle shot
of the actress running up the stairs. The
last shot of the buildup will include a fast
time-lapse
of
the
actress
being
surrounded by a crowd of moving people,
which will interlink with the fast beat of
the song.
At 1:31 the musical drop kicks in from the
previous build-up giving the song a fast
pace. The constant drum beat will be
used to transfer between shots with the
use of fast paced cuts. This section of
the music video will portray a comparison
between
positive
and
negative
representations of the youth via including
shots of the actress dancing, riding a
skateboard, swinging on a swing,
throwing leaves into the air as well as
smoking, drinking alcohol, doing graffiti
and crying. To capture these scenes we
will use medium shots, medium closeups, tracking shots, low angle shots,
wide shots and extreme close-ups.
The scene will finish with a shot of the
actress standing in a lift with the door
closing in order to finish the chorus.

At the beginning of verse 2 the actress is

portrayed with an over the shoulder
shot walking down the Hyde Park. With
the use of a jump cut we will then
transfer to a wide shot of the actress
walking towards the camera reinforcing
her lonely location. On top of this, we will
use a medium shot focused on the
actress looking for direction outside of the
Hyde Park gate. Further on we will include
a wide shot of the actress walking and
looking at her phone due to her getting a
message from an unknown source. This
will then progress to a point of
view/close-up shot of the actress
phone. She will read and reply to her text
message. The second verse then moves
onto a slight build up, gaining pace.
During this we will portray a contrasts
between the actresss feelings by
including wide shots of her walking
down Oxford street and her spinning
around with joy in Horseden Hills one
after another. These shots will repeat
several times. After this we will include a
close-up shot of the actresses face and
her hair movement in Horseden Hill. To
end this verse and the buildup we will
include a still close-up shot of the
actress directly looking at the camera and
smiling.

Lyrics : Wherever its going, Im gonna chase

The second beat drop kicks in at 2:40 and

lasts 29 seconds. In order to portray the
same image we have chosen to continue
the shots from the first drop (1:31-1:44).
We will use the same scenes however we
will portray the second half of them by
which we will create corporate identity
between the fast beats, giving our music
video a stable construction. The idea of
having both negative and positive
representations in the fast beat will lead
onto the next part of the song which will
show actresses reflection.

After the fast beat comes a slower section

of the music which we will use in order to
show the reflection time of the actress. In
order to show this we will include a
medium close-up of the actress taking
out her mirror and looking at her
reflection representing her thinking over
her past. This will then then cut into a
handheld shot of the actress pointing the
camera at herself (using the camera as if
she was looking at the mirror).

Lyrics : Lets live tonight like fireflies

This scene will then move onto a closeup of the model shutting the mirror and
then cutting to a tracking shot of her
standing up from the floor showing her
rising from her past. Moving on, we will
include a medium close-up of the
actresss legs jumping on the skateboard
and riding away. As a jump cut we will
portray a still medium shot of the
actress riding away while at the same
time throwing away her cigarettes and
necklace showing that she leaves her past
behind her.

Lyrics: and pass the crown

From 3:39 to 4:09 we have a third

musical drop which has a very fast pace.
In this third drop we will include the key
scenes of the whole video and reverse
them in order to show her transformation
while at the same time creating a loop in
the music video, bringing the story back
to the start of her falling asleep and
entering her dream.

Lyrics : Were beautiful, Were beautiful now

At the very end in 4:08 minutes into the

music video we have very clear lyrics
saying the key word of the song Were
beautiful which we have chosen to lipsync with the actress. This as a result will
reinforce the strength the actress has
gained throughout the video as at the end
she can address the audience by looking
straight at the camera. By this we
underline the title of the song as well as
her transformation from negative to
positive mindset.

Lyrics: Were beautiful 4:08

In the last second of the music video we

have a specific woosh sound effect
which ends the soundtrack. We have
chosen to use as the exit from the
actresses dream. In order to show this we
will include an extreme close-up to the
actresss eyes which then will open with
the use of the sound effect. This will
create a strong ending to the video.
