Quick Start Guide

This guide gets you started with a typical installation for IBM InfoSphere Data Architect.
Product overview
IBM InfoSphere Data Architect is a collaborative data-modeling and information-integration tool for discovering, modeling,
relating, and standardizing diverse data assets. It helps you create new data models from scratch or by unifying data from
disparate sources in your organization. You can share models across a team, print models, publish them on the web, and
translate them to physical implementations, which you can test and deploy.

Step 1: Access your software

If you download your product from the web, follow the instructions in the download document that is available at:
http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg24030626

This product offering includes:

v Quick Start CD
v InfoSphere Data Architect DVD
v InfoSphere Data Architect License Enablement Kit CD

Step 2: Review the base architecture

The following diagram shows a typical installation of InfoSphere Data Architect. You use IBM Installation Manager to
install and update the InfoSphere Data Architect product. If you do not already have Installation Manager installed on your
