DILG R10 ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT FOR THE PROVINCE OF CAMIGUIN

Programs and Projects in the Province were sustainably implemented through the Congressional Development Fund (CDF) to cater the social
protection for the constituents, the island was not so developed in terms of infrastructures, and agriculture and fishery were given less opportunity for
economic upliftment as tourism was the main source of livelihood. Only upon the inception of BUB Program that various projects were primarily and
specifically identified by the CSOs; the marginalized sectors were given an opportunity to take part in the identification of projects that would cater their
specific needs. With the BUB Program under the Aquino administration, more funding were downloaded for various projects supporting the environmental,
social and economic aspects that had helped augment the LGUs in the realization of the major thrusts in the delivery of basic services to the constituents who
are hopeful that such program may be continued to uplift the living standard of the populace.
In the previous years, a number of households province-wide used to defecate anywhere, fishermen used to fish offshore by renting fishing boats
or thru sharing of fish-catch, some had to contend with dirt roads leading to the highway which were impassable to motor vehicles during rainy days, health
centers were lacking health services providers but through bub projects; more were provided with sanitary toilets, fisher-folks were provided with their own
own motorized fishing boats with accessories, some households now enjoy about 2 kms of concreted access road leading to the highway, emergency
employment of nurses was also implemented to fill the gap.
