balance to support it, Bond Street is packed with designer outlets, e.g. Donna Karan, Versace and
Armani. If Bond Street isnt up-market enough for you, you can always get a taxi to Knightsbridge.
G. THE WEST END
No visit to London would be complete without catching a West End show. Prices range from 5 to
35 and afternoon performances are always the cheapest. Or you can join the queue at the halfprice ticket booth in Leicester Square and use the rest of your cash for a meal afterwards in one of
the areas many restaurants.

Though it is the youngest of the arts, cinema has a rich and varied history and you can see it all
here at the MOMI. From the earliest Lumire brothers films up to the present day, every aspect of

HOW TO FIGHT FLU THIS WINTER
Every year, thousands of people suffer from the flu and, unfortunately, this looks likely to
continue. Although scientists are still trying to understand the flu, there are some ways to
avoid getting it. However, there is no guarantee of a cure.
The flu jab
The flu jab is one possible way to prevent flu. The injection can be given by your local
doctor or at the hospital. Virus proteins are injected into the blood, your body recognizes
them as foreign and makes antibodies. The antibodies are then ready to fight the flu virus if
you are unlucky enough to catch it. Research shows that, on average, having a flu jab
reduces your chances of getting flu by 60-80 percent. Some people feel tired or experience
flu-like symptoms for a few days after the jab.
Vitamins
If you dont like the idea of having an injection, you could try taking vitamin supplements.
Vitamin C
Taking vitamin C when you already have the flu wont cure you. Vitamin C is effective,
however, if you take it before you get the flu. It can help to reduce the length and severity
of the illness.
Cod liver oil
It may taste unpleasant, but it is full of vitamins A and D, which help fight gems.
Herbs and homeopathy
Garlic
Garlic contains allicin, which fights viruses and bacteria.
Herbal teas
These are also good for treating colds and flu. Try peppermint, sage or elderflower, which
are available from your local health food store.
Aromatherapy oils
Breathing in scent of oils such as eucalyptus and lavender may also help.
Lifestyle
By choosing a healthy lifestyle, you will reduce stress and help your body protect itself from
the flu.
Exercise
Make sure you do some kind of exercise three times a week for at least 20 minutes.
Nutrition
Dont eat fried or smoked food. Try to eat as much fresh fruit and vegetables as possible
at least five portions a day. Choose colourful vegetables like carrots, broccoli and red
peppers. Eat foods which are rich in zinc, such as potatoes, nuts, liver and wholewheat
bread.
