Dear Inez Anders,

Based on the ratings of the 15 team evaluations and careful thought about Kyle Houston's work
at Anders Consulting I have concluded that he would likely benefit with more experience in his
current position before being promoted to Team Leader. My opinion and evaluation of the rating
along with working with him for the past 6 months helped to attain my conclusion. Kyle was
rated on three categories: contributing, listening, and facilitation of group problem-solving and I
find the results of the ratings to reflect accurately on my personal opinion of Kyles performance
at Anders Consulting Company.
The first aspect of Kyles evaluation showed that he is punctual. He has attended all meetings,
meets his deadlines, and shares his ideas. Out of the three categories Kyle scored the highest on
Contributing giving him a score of 2.83 out of 3 which proves that he expresses great ideas and
creativity. This skill will only grow stronger with more experience and will help prep him to
become an outstanding team leader.
The second category was Listening. This area Kyle did not score as high as the previous. The
score placed Kyle at a 1.96 out of a 3. This proves that Kyle likes to take charge which is a
positive aspect, but he does not know when to let others talk or take control. Although the score
is fair, Kyle will need the most work in this area before being ready to obtain and excel in the
position of team leader.
The final category of the evaluation was Facilitation of group problem-solving. This was
Kyles median score where it was not his highest and not his lowest. Kyle scored a 2.18 out of 3
in this category. Kyle is very organized and almost always stays on topic, however he tends to
get stuck on one solution without considering other alternatives. In order to be the best leader
possible Kyle will need to be able to think with an open mind and consider suggestions before
dismissing them.
Kyles overall score was 2.42 out of 3 possible, which is an above average score. It seems Kyle
possess strong qualitys as a leader and has proved himself within these short 6 months. However
there are some alarming traits that will need to be worked on before he can become a team
leader. Kyle would benefit with extra training on his listening skills and some constructive
criticism from his peers. I firmly believe that he will soon be ready to become a team leader for
Anders Consulting Company.
During Kyles evaluation meeting I opened with some of the concerns that I received from his
evaluation. He agreed that those areas needed work. We have decided on going to a leadership
conference next month where he can further develop effective communication and leadership

skills. I appreciate the opportunity to evaluate Kyle and am honored to have your trust, and if
you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to let me know.
Sincerely,
Dakota Carroll, Team Leader Anders Consulting
