Civil Engineering Project
Revised Edition, 2014

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
It is a course that presents the definition, long range objectives, feasibility criteria, history and basic criteria of the project
under study. Major aspects in the technical, financial, socio economic, and management feasibility of the project are also
included in the project study. The project design must integrate the various fields of civil engineering work. Students shall
operate in groups an d complete a study for a typical engineering undertaking.
TERMINAL OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the semester, the students are expected to:
1. Develop the technical and management skills required to independently plan, conduct a technical feasibility study.
2. Carry out the design of a particular civil engineering project that will encompass structural, water resources, geotechnical and
transport design.
3. Be able to present a complete technical feasibility study as a requirement for graduation.
