Spring Awakens

As winter makes way for spring I find myself clearing
the closets and clutter of my old life, preparing the
ground for new growth. As I clear away what no
longer serves I recall a message from a friend
“Spend none of your precious life energy on trying to
revive that which is already dead”. I am grateful for David Hickey: Sounds of the Solar System
the teaching and the reminder that life is not
permanent.
One of the reasons I like to fill my house with fresh
flowers each week is to be reminded of my own
impermanence. The beauty and fragrance of the
flower is fleeting and only lasts for a short while, as

The symposium is an opportunity for everyone to
understand what is happening and to consider how we
can all play a part in addressing these problems and
creating a world that works sustainably for us and for
future generations.
Participants will explore our culture and how this
contributes to these problems in a workshop that uses
inspiring video, up-to-the-minute facts and figures and
dynamic group interaction. We’ll hear from some of the
world’s leading experts on topics as diverse as the
current state of the Earth’s biodiversity and the reality of
the socio-economic disparity throughout the world.
Through this enquiry each individual will discover the
unique stand that they wish to take for a more just,
sustainable, and fulfilling world.
Participants will leave the Symposium empowered to
take clear steps to embody their vision for a better
world, and having established new connections to work
with others on common issues.
The Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream
Symposium is an initiative of The Pachamama Alliance,
a San Francisco-based non-profit organization whose
mission is to preserve the Earth’s tropical rainforests by
empowering the indigenous peoples who are its natural
custodians, and to contribute to the creation of a new
global vision of equity and sustainability for all.
The vision of the initiative is to generate widespread
awakening at the grassroots level that leads to a
transformation of our worldview, such that humanity
becomes committed to restoring and protecting the
environment and moves towards social justice and
spiritual fulfillment.
Pre-registration is required, you are asked to bring your
own lunch, and a donation of $20/person for the event.
Join us at the Edge Retreat Centre for an evening of
entertainment, April 29, 2010 at 7:30pm.
Positive Vibrations presents various mystical escapes
through sound and colour with the healing tones of
Quartz Crystal Bowls performed by David Hickey. Watch
a video of his performance, then imagine your journey in
Edge atmosphere. Tickets ($20) are to be purchased
ahead of time, and donations for future community
programs will be accepted.

As spring emerges I invite you to join me in
journeying with this intention:
Ask the Helping Spirits to take you to the place
where you store your 'clutter'. This could be a
basement, locker, drawer, somewhere within
your body, or your sacred garden. Take some
time to review what is there and when you feel
ready ask the Spirits to 'dismember' the clutter
making room for new life and energy.
It is so very important at this time that we
connect with and support one another and the
dreams we carry.
I invite you to read ‘The Story of Whale’ about
the import keys that we each carry and how
important it is to connect with one another in
both ordinary and non-ordinary reality.

March 23 - April 5th I will be in Ecuador with the

Pachamama Alliance (www.pachamama.org). I
have a deep desire and calling to enter dream
culture with the Achuar people to learn about
the power of dreams. I find myself deeply
desiring to connect with other’s who are doing
the important work of dreaming our world anew.

Journey:
You can do this journey in a community circle, or imagining yourself within a circle. Each circle
member becomes a part of a ‘Spirit Canoe’ that is formed by the whole circle, with a bow and stern
and paddlers on each side. The paddles become rattles as each member sings calling upon their
Spirit Helpers.

The intention is to journey as one to the 'web of light'. The boat begins it’s journey in water and
eventually begins to fly, just like in Peter Pan. Feel your connection to the web and the power that
resides within the circles upon circles.

Ask how you can remain grounded, centered and focused in the midst of chaos. While connecting
with this web of light, transmute anything that is remaining that is tying up our energy while filling
yourself with light.

As we sweep away the cobwebs of our former selves, may we breathe life into each moment fully.
