Required Data Needed from Utility: Connection of a Metallurgical Plant


(Network Condition, Power Quality etc.)
Explanation:
Takeover point is the point, where the plant is connected to the utility grid, and where power
consumption is measured.
Battery limit is the limit of the plant, to where the utility provides power, and from where erection
of the onward power distribution is handeled by the plant owner under his plant budget. This
does not have to be identical with the takeover point.
PCC (point of common coupling, relevant for power quality issues) is the point in the high voltage
supply system, where the plant is connected to a busbar, that also feeds non-industrial (private
housholds, supply of a city) or other sensitive consumers. This is often not the high voltage
substation dedicated to the supply of the plant, but the upstream substation feeding this plant
substation. (Clarification between power transmission / utility company and plant owner may be
required if necessary, Siemens could support in this regard.
