ACTION PLAN

To contribute to the goal of preparing reflective practitioners, student teachers will write an Action Plan at the end of first, second, and third field
experience with input from their cooperating teacher and/or the University supervisor. The Action Plan synthesizes each field experiences
evaluation, links each field experience to the next, establishes goals for improvement, and forms an agenda for discussion between the student
teacher, the cooperating teacher and University supervisor at the beginning of the subsequent field experience. For First Field Experience only
(excluding Physical Education students), the Action Plan will be completed during the co-requisite Professional Seminar course.

I have shown thorough to advanced development in the following Professional Competencies developed
during this field experience:
I believe I have shown both thorough to advanced development in all of the Professional Competencies during this
field experience. In particular, competencies 1, 2, 5, 8 and 11. I communicated with staff and students about
concerns, issues, and worries. I acted responsibly and respectfully towards others and tried my best to encourage all
my students to do so as well. I incorporated a diverse array of strategies to help students with different needs and
thoroughly used technology in the classroom.

I would like to improve my skills in the following Professional Competencies developed during this field
experience:
I would like to improve my skills in competencies 3, 4, 6, and 9. I would like more opportunities to communicate and
work with parents. I also believe that classroom management skills is always something that you must continue
working on. I need to work on keeping more rowdy students engaged and on task. I also want to improve on my
strategies of gauging student understanding.

I will make use of the following strategies for improvement:


I will try to utilize different strategies to keep students more focused on the material at hand and figure out more
classroom management techniques that address these issues. I will try to incorporate more group work and
collaborative learning to work towards more thorough understanding. I will also try to develop stronger
communication with parents through continued contact through email.
