Brochure
Description:
This is a two-sided offset folding brochure.
Programs used:
Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop
Date:
December 5, 2015
Course/Instructor:
Communications 150- Visual Media with Brother Ben Pingel
Objectives:
This brochure was made to pursuade people to plan a trip to the
TreeTop Resort and inform them about what it has to offer.
Process:

I first went to InDesign and set up the lines for my fold so that I could
start laying things out and knowing where to put them. Because the
message of the resort is outdoor adventures, I created repetition by
putting evergreen trees through out the design and the logo. I also
used a monochromatic green color scheme so that it would tie into
the trees.
I created the logo using Illustrator using the pen tool and text. I
then placed it on the front of the brochure so that right away people
would know what the company is. I also created the text wrapped
image by opening a photo of a hiker in Photoshop and using the
quick selection tool I selected the person, refined the edges and then
deleted the inverse. I then inserted this into InDesign using place
and then using the wrap text options I created a flow around the
hiker.

Logo
Description:
This is a logo designed for Kaylynn B. Photography
Programs:
Adobe Illustrator
Date:
October 31, 2015
Course/Instructor:
Communications 150- Visual Media with Brother Ben Pingel
Objectives:
To show that Kaylynn B. Photography is a professional
photography company
Process:
I used Illustrator to create a few different designs. After I
finished the designs I decided to have people vote on which one
they liked the best. I refined some of the details so that the
design looked more professional and ready to use. I chose a
monochromatic color scheme to look more professional.

Letterhead
Description:
This is a stationery letterhead designed for Sunrise Sports
Programs:
Adobe Indesign, Adobe Illustrator
Date:
November 8, 2015
Course/Instructor:
Communications 150- Visual Media with Brother Ben Pingel
Objectives:
Having a professional letterhead for the company to send out to
others.
Process:
created the logo using Adobe Illustrator. I then put the logo into
a letterhead on Adobe InDesign and made it look professional
by adding information about the company. I positioned the logo
at the top in the middle so that it is apparent what the business
is. I also put the honeycomb in the bottom corner at a low
opacity so to create a watermark.

contact with Sunrise Sports.
Process:
I added two 3.5X2 boxes on a new page on InDesign to create
business cards that match the letterhead so that there was a
connection. On the front side I place the logo in the center. On
the back I used the same font and then put the information
about how to come in contact with the company.

Montage
Description:
This is a spiritual montage combining photos
Programs:
Adobe Photoshop
Date:
October 24, 2015
Course/Instructor:
Communications 150- Visual Media with Brother Ben Pingel
Objectives:
Create a spiritual message by blending two photos together.
Process:
I cropped the background image to be an 8.5x11. I then adjusted
the lighting on the background image to make it looks brighter
and I sharpened the colors. I then chose a picture of the temple
and placed it on the background photo. Then using a layer mask
and brush tool I made the photo of the temple blend into the
background image. Then I added a quote from President
Monson that matched the theme of the pictures.

Always have
the temple in
your sights

Imaging

Programs:
Adobe Photoshop

October 18, 2015
Course/Instructor:
Communications 150- Visual Media with Brother Ben Pingel
Objectives:
This was designed to demonstrate an understanding of light,
focus and composition.
Process:
first decided that I want to do a bold triadic color scheme so I
got the colors together and shot the photo. To make the colors
more bold I used Adobe Photoshop to adjust lighting and color.
Then I designed an 8.5 x 11 layout that included my picture, text,
shapes and my color scheme.

Event Ad
Description:
This ad was created to promote a charity event.
Programs:
Microsoft Word
Date:
October 11, 2015
Course/Instructor:
Communications 150- Visual Media with Brother Ben Pingel
Objectives:
This was designed to create a design that would draw peoples
attention to this charity even happening.
Process:
I scanned the image of the little girl. I then opened it up in
Microsoft Word and added colored elements that matched the
image and created a full color scheme. I then created a text
box so that you could see the text on the dark background and
changed the opacity.

November 22, 2015
Course/Instructor:
Communications 150- Visual Media with Brother Ben Pingel
Objectives:
This is to show off the logo for the company.
Process:
I created this website using Notepad ++. I hadnt worked with
coding before this project. It was interesting using the CSS/
HTML coding systems. I also was able to check and see if my
HTML was valid by using http://www.W3.org. I used an already
made CSS document and put it into my HTML document. I
changed fonts and colors so that the webpage matched the logo I
previously created.
