available sampf..es from a r e a s w i t h no o p e r a t i n g mines, A v a i l a b l e i n f o r m a t i o n
leads t o the conclusfon, however, t h a t l e s s than 3 percent of the t o t a l Illi-
n o i s coal r e s e r v e s can be cleaned t o less than 1.5 percent s u l f u r w i t h a normal
recovery.
