NOTE FROM RICK LAZIO

Women for Lazio is the statewide grassroots coalition of women from all
walks of life, ethnicity, professions, and political affiliations coming
together to support my candidacy for Governor and continue this great
movement we have begun to fundamentally reform Albany and take
back our government.
You and I know that the women of New York have historically been
pioneers in the women’s movement. From voting and employment
rights to health issues like ovarian and breast cancer, New York women
have led the way to change.
As a public official, I have a long record of supporting issues that have
improved the quality of life for women. These issues include requiring
companies to give their workers unpaid leave to spend time with a

newborn child or a sick family member; forgiving college debt to
encourage more day-care workers; giving uninsured employees a
deduction to pay for health care; and supporting health care strategies
focused on prevention.
I am especially proud of authoring the Breast and Cervical Cancer
Treatment Act which provides strong incentives for the individual States
to include a Medicaid treatment package for those low-income women
who are diagnosed with breast or cervical cancer. Breast cancer has WEDNESDAY, APRIL 7, 2010
touched my family and I know how vital it is to get prompt treatment.
And that brings me to the most important reason why women’s issues
are close to my heart. I am blessed to be surrounded by an incredible
group of women in my life. My wife, Pat, my mother, Olive, my sisters,
THE 3 WEST CLUB
Gale, Roseann and Yashoda, and my two daughters Molly and Kelsey
keep me grounded and focused on what is important. NEW YORK CITY
As Governor, I will make sure that the issues that are important to the
women of New York have a voice in my administration and that
women’s issues are a top priority. I need your help, your voice, and
your ideas to make this happen.
Let's do it together. Join Women for Lazio!
