Explain in detail the operation of three-phase fully controlled converter fed DC drive
with neat waveforms for =30 and =140.

A 200V, 875rpm, 150A separately excited DC motor has an armature resistance of


0.06. It is fed from a single-phase fully controlled rectifier with an ac source of
220v, 50Hz. Assuming continous condution calculate (i) Firing angle of rated motor
torque and 750 rpm. (ii) Motor speed for =160 degree and rated torque.
