FullVacuumdesignpressuremeansthevesselisratedtobeusedatanyvacuumlevelthatcanbeachievedunderstandardatmospheric
pressureconditions.Itisusuallyassociatedwithatemperaturerangeaswell.Notethatthisassumesallmaterialsthatcontactthevessel
arecompatiblewithitanddonotcauseunacceptablelevelsofphysicalorchemicalcorrosionandabrasion.

Aplaterating5+FVlikelymeansthatthevesselisratedtobeusedfrom5(whatevertheunitsare,iftherearenoneyouhaveaserious
problemandshouldbeonthephonetothemanufacturerifusingunderpressure!!)downtofullvacuum.Youdohavetomakesurethatthis
isforthevessselandnotanyjacketingaseachhastoberatedseperatelyjacketsarenotoftenvacuumratedthough.
Anystructuralrepairsthatwouldaffecttheintegrityofthevessel(eg.wallrepairstoatank,notjustextendingthelegsonit)willdefinitely
requirerecertificationtotheappropriatecodebyacompetentperson.Therefore,theonlypersonthatcantellyouwhatthepressure
capacitywillbeafterwardswillbetheengineerdealingwithit.

RememberalsothatthevesselwillhavetestrecordsrecordsofhydraulictestingthathavebeenwitnessedbytheEngineer/Surveyorfor
thecompanysupplyingburst/collapseindemnityinsuranceforthefacility.Therecordswillbeinthefacility'sGeneralRegister,forreviewand
retestatintervalsforinsurancepurposes.Themagnitudeofthetestpressureappliedtothevessel,anditsworkingpressureforinsurance
purposes,willbenotedonthecertificate.Itisimportanttocheckthis,asthesafeworkingpressureasdeterminedbythatcompany,maybe
changingwithtime.Vesselsdodeteriorate,particularlythosecontainingsteamandcompressedair,asthethichknessofthevesselwallfalls
withtime,duetocorrosion.
