RESOLUTION FOR REMOVAL OF A CONGRESS MEMBER

1 WHEREAS, The rules for impeachment/removal from Congress as stated in Section 7:

2 A member of Congress may be impeached and removed from office for just cause:
3 (a) upon the adoption of a petition for impeachment by two-thirds of the entire
4 Congress and the concurrence of two-thirds of the IUSA Supreme Court;
5 (b) upon presentation of a petition to the Congress that the member is no longer a
6 member of the constituency he represents and the concurrence of two-thirds of the
7 IUSA Congress; and,

9 WHEREAS, Foster representative, Hai “Howie” Yu no longer meets the necessary
10 requirements to fulfill his obligations as a Congress member; and
11
12 WHEREAS, Howie has been placed on suspension by Indiana University, making him
13 no longer a student, and thus ineligible to represent his constituency of the university as
14 well as no longer a member of IUSA; and
15
16 WHEREAS, Removal from office qualifies that Howie may not claim IUSA
17 membership or any similar credit for the 2009-2010 session;

19 THEREFORE LET IT BE RESOLVED, That the Student Congress here assembled
20 remove Hai “Howie” Yu from the 2009-2010 Congress.
