Executive Summary
Our Company is a manufacturer and direct sales organisation of healthy snacks with five
popular brands within the young family market with young children at school. After many
years of successful growth within the domestic Australian market, further growth has been

determined only viable within international markets. Japan has been identified as the
suitable market growth avenue and appropriate steps have been taken to establish a local
office in Tokyo. The current office and warehouse in Tokyo is staffed local Japanese logistics
staff with current. The objective now is launch the product range of healthy snack foods
into the Japanese market. As part of this strategy a new local position of Promotions
Assistant has been created. This position reports directly to the Australian Promotions
Manager.
This report identifies the task necessary to ensure the successful launch of Our Companys
healthy snack products.

Recruit and prepare a local Promotions Assistant in


the Tokyo Office.
Tasks
1. Refer to the business policy to ascertain conditions of:

Working Hours and breaks, overtime, pay scales, probationary periods, uniform
requirements, timesheet and leave provisions

Work area and general related matters.

Occupational Health and Safety requirements

Employment contract.

Taxation

Personal and Data Privacy

Termination

Resignation
2. Consult with management team about objectives, their needs, their links to the
Japanese market and staff.
3. Determine the local conditions of Tokyo hiring. This is a fulltime position. A Regular
employee in Japan is referred as seisha-in.
4. Develop a detailed job description in line with local Japanese laws e.g. gender
irrelevancy.
5. Recruit and advertise using local recruitment agent to ensure no difficulties in hiring
and termination functions. Suggest hiring agency employs the Promotions Assistant for
a period of 6 -12 months.
6. Develop a product training manual.
7. Interview via video teleconferencing.

Identify and Agree on Roles and Responsibilities


Tasks
1. Refer to the business policy to ascertain any current set conditions.
2. Develop a RACI chart of responsibilities for both Recruitment Agent and staff member.
3. Develop and Agent agreement. All Agents must adhere to local law compliance
requirements as stipulated in their agency agreement.
4. Develop a job description for the Promotions Assistant within the following guidelines:

a. Describe Our Organisation


b. Describe the role responsibilities as developing the Promotional Japanese
Market to attract customers and educate customers and raise brand-awareness.
c. Provide role model exceptional customer service.
d. Monitor sales analysis reports to budget.
e. Ensure innovative store display and product visibility.
f. Determine the personal traits such as: self-starter,

5. Set expectations: Prioritise deliverables over activities. Ensure remote employee is on
