Fritillary

The Pearl-bordered Fritillary is a butterfly
whose orange wings are adorned with black spots
and rows of pearly markings along the edges.
This advanced-beginner level triangular shawl
is worked outwards from the center of the top edge,
the delicate lace and iridescent beads
capturing the spirit of a Fritillary butterflys wingspread.

Finished Size 56 along top edge, 29 from top edge to center point.
Gauge First 11 rows are 6 along top edge and 3 from top edge to center point after blocking.
Yarn Filatura Di Crosa Nirvana, color 27, 3 skeins or approximately 900 yd lace weight yarn.
Hook E/4 (3.50 mm) or as required to obtain desired drape.
Beads 2072 8/0 seed beads.
Notions Beading wire or crochet hook to place beads, Needle to weave in ends.

The beads are added during crocheting, not pre-strung on the yarn. I recommend this beading
method (Ravelry account required).
The edging uses approximately 25% of the total yarn for the shawl.
