The Lords Day Worship Service

Fourth Sunday Of Advent

God Calls Us
To Worship

The Maker of all things

For majesty above
The One who made the stars
Now with us in flesh and blood
What praise could be enough
(repeat chorus)

Lighting Of The
Advent Candles
The Call To Worship
~ Psalm 95 ~
Leader: Oh come, let us sing to the
Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the
rock of our salvation! Let us come into
His presence with thanksgiving; let us
make a joyful noise to Him with songs
of praise! For the Lord is a great God,
and a great King above all gods.
We have gathered to worship and enjoy
our gracious God!
Unison: Praise God from whom all
blessings flow!

Prayer Of Adoration
Songs Of Praise & Worship
Newborn King
All creation like a song
Waiting to be sung
All the world in darkness lay
Desp'rate for the dawn
Suddenly a voice
An angel choir proclaimed
The One who made the stars
Is born in Bethlehem
So let all the people sing
chorus
Blessing, honour, glory, power
To the newborn King
Songs of earth and songs of heaven
Join as one to bring
Blessing, honour, glory, power
To the newborn King
Let the nations hear the news
See what God has done
Heaven's gift of peace on earth
His own beloved Son

bridge
Angels gather 'round Your throne
All the saints and angels singing
They all bow down to You alone
Oh, all singing
(repeat chorus)
God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen
God rest ye merry, gentlemen
Let nothing you dismay
Remember Christ our Saviour
Was born on Christmas Day
To save us all from Satan's pow'r
When we were gone astray
chorus
O tidings of comfort and joy
Comfort and joy
O tidings of comfort and joy
In Bethlehem, in Jewry
This blessed babe was born
And laid within a manger
Upon this blessed morn
The which His mother Mary
Did nothing take in scorn
(repeat chorus)
From God, our heavenly Father
A blessed angel came
And unto certain shepherds
Brought tidings of the same
How that in Bethlehem was born
The Son of God by name
(repeat chorus)
Fear not, then said the angel
Let nothing you affright
This day is born a Saviour
Of a pure virgin bright
To free all those who trust in Him
From Satan's pow'r and might
(repeat chorus)

At Your Name

Prayer of Confession

At Your name
The mountains shake and crumble
At Your name
The oceans roar and tumble
At Your name angels will bow
The earth will rejoice
Your people cry out

Unison: Almighty and merciful God, we

have erred and strayed from Your ways
like lost sheep. We have followed too
much the devices and desires of our own
hearts. We have offended against Your
holy laws. We have left undone those
things which we ought to have done; and
we have done those things that we ought
not to have done.

chorus
Lord of all the earth
We shout Your name
Shout Your name
Filling up the skies
With endless praise, endless praise
Yahweh, Yahweh
We love to shout Your name, oh Lord
At Your name
The morning breaks in glory
At Your name
Creation sings Your story
At Your name angels will bow
The earth will rejoice
Your people cry out
(repeat chorus)
bridge
There is no one like our God
We will praise You, praise You
There's no one like our God
We will sing, we will sing
There is no one like our God
We will praise You, praise You
There's no one like our God
We will sing

~ Silent Confession ~
Unison: Oh Lord, have mercy upon us.
Spare those who confess their faults.
Restore those who are repentant,
according to Your promises declared to
the world in Christ Jesus, our Lord.
And grant, O merciful God, for His sake,
that we might live a holy, just, and
humble life to the glory of Your Holy
name. Amen.

Emptied Himself of all but love

And bled for Adams helpless race
Tis mercy all, immense and free
For, O my God, it found out me
Amazing love! How can it be
That Thou, my God shouldst die for me
Long my imprisoned spirit lay
Fast bound in sin and natures night
Thine eye diffused a quickning ray
I woke, the dungeon flamed with light
My chains fell off, my heart was free
I rose, went forth, and followed Thee
Amazing love! How can it be
That Thou, my God shouldst die for me
No condemnation now I dread
Jesus, and all in Him is mine
Alive in Him my living Head
And clothed in righteousness divine
Bold I approach th eternal throne
And claim the crown
Through Christ my own
Amazing love! How can it be
That Thou, my God shouldst die for me

The Words Of The Gospel

Call To Repentance &

Renewal
~ Isaiah 1:18 ~
Come now, let us reason together, says
the Lord. Though your sins are like
scarlet, they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red like crimson, they
shall be like wool.

He left His Fathers throne above

So free, so infinite His grace!

And by the light of that same star

Three wise came from country far
To seek for a king was their intent
And to follow the star wherever it went
(repeat chorus)
Emmanuel
Emmanuel, Emmanuel
His name is called Emmanuel
God is with us, revealed in us
His name is called Emmanuel
Holy

Todays Scripture Lesson:

You are holy, holy, holy
God most high and God most worthy
You are holy, holy, holy
Jesus, You are, Jesus, You are

The End of Christmas

God Feeds Us His

Covenant Meal

And Can It Be?

And can it be that I should gain
An intrest in the Saviours blood
Died He for me who caused His pain
For me, who Him to death pursued
Amazing love! How can it be
That Thou my God shouldst die for me
Amazing love! How can it be
That Thou, my God shouldst die for me

(repeat chorus)

They looked up and saw a star

Shining in the east, beyond them far
And to the earth it gave great light
And so it continued both day and night

What heart could hold the weight

Of Your love
And know the heights
Of Your great worth
What eyes could look on
Your glorious face
Shining like the sun
(repeat)

Luke 2:46-55

(repeat chorus)

chorus
Noel, Noel; Noel, Noel
Born is the King of Israel

Songs for Communion

The First Noel
The first Noel the angel did say
Was to certain poor shepherds
In fields as they lay
In fields where they
Lay keeping their sheep
On a cold winters night
That was so deep

Your name alone has pow'r to raise us

Your light will shine when all else fades
Our eyes will look on Your glorious face
Shining like the sun
Who is like You, God
(repeat chorus)
bridge
Who shall we say You are
You're the living God
Who shall we say You are
You're the Great I Am
The highest name of all
You're all You say You are
(repeat chorus)
And You will come again in glory
To judge the living and the dead
All eyes will look on Your glorious face
Shining like the sun
Who is like You, God

Our Confession Of Faith

Announcements

~ Colossians 1:15-20 ~
Leader: Let us confess our faith
Unison: Jesus Christ is the image of the
invisible God, the firstborn of all
creation; For by Him all things were
created, in heaven and on earth, visible
and invisible, whether thrones or
dominions or rulers or authoritiesall
things were created through Him and
for Him.
And He is before all things, and in him
all things hold together. And He is the
head of the body, the church. He is the
beginning, the firstborn from the dead,
that in everything he might be
preeminent.
For in Him all the fullness of God was
pleased to dwell, and through Him to
reconcile to Himself all things whether
on earth or in heaven, making peace by
the blood of His cross.
