Pastor kerry wilson: That They Might All Be One 10 is a church that teaches the truth. He says the battles we face are about disrupting the unity of believers in the word. Spiritual Confusion occurs when the truth is applied or taught in error, for personal gain.

That They May All Be One 10 • John 17. 4,5 “ I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.” That They Might All Be One 10 • We will use the terms “ the word” and “ the truth” interchangeably. • What work did Jesus finish ? • Jesus prayer in John 17 was to insure that the work that he did would stay intact. The only way that it would stay intact is if they promoted and embraced the unity that was between the Father and the Son. That They Might All Be One 10 • Jesus said this unity was imperative in the world believing that he was real in time space history. • The battles we face are in direct conflict with this prayer. They are about disrupting the unity of believers in Jesus and His word, or His doctrine or The Truth. That They Might All Be One 10 • The Battlefront • 1. Interpretation Do we realize the reality that when God gave us His word that in order to transcend time, civilizations, cultures, that it had to remain absolute. It couldn’t change with fads, creeds, cultures, religion but had to be able to withstand all of these obstacles. • It had to withstand personality differences, conflict and scrutiny from the secular world. That They Might All Be One 10 • I want you to meditate in the word, and I want you to study but I want you to be able to ask questions, you must ask questions and we must provide a platform for those questions. • What do we believe, we don’t want you to be ignorant or passive in your understanding of the Truth. It isn’t just be quiet and do as I say, nor is it just do as you will. • These are the basic tenets that we embrace for simple and quick overview in searching for a church that teaches truth. That They Might All Be One 10 • 2. Spiritual Confusion occurs when the truth is applied or taught in error, for personal gain or demonic intention. This confusion is diametrically opposed to the unity Jesus prayed for, for it was in this truth that unity had to be visible for the world to see. • a. The church becomes ineffective and is ridiculed when this truth isn’t propogated. That They Might All Be One 10 • God’ eternal plan allocated for a time of dark ages, but the Word doesn’t prophesy of another dark ages but of a glorious, victorious church. • These are the some of the New Testament warnings concerning doctrinal unity. That They Might All Be One 10 • There are many evolutionary forms of these heresies alive today , that I am about to talk about, but these were some of the major heresies that confused the church of the 1st,2nd,3rd Centuries into apostasy and then into darkness. That They Might All Be One 10 • Gnosticism: “ Superior spiritual knowledge” • Arianism: “ Trinity vs 3 in essence, but only one” • Antonomianism: “ Faith alone, without regard to application in action” • Nicolaitans: Laity dominated by Leadership 1 Corinthians 15:12 (KJV) 12Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? 2 Corinthians 11:1-4 (KJV) 1Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me. 2For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. 3But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. 4For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. 2 Corinthians 11:12-15 (KJV) 12But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we. 13For such are false apostles, deceitful workers,
transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
14And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an
angel of light. 15Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be
transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose
end shall be according to their works. Galatians 1:6-9 6Imarvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 7Which is not another; but there be some that trouble
you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
8But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any
other gospel unto you than that which we have
preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach
any other gospel unto you than that ye have received,
let him be accursed. Galatians 5:7-12 7Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth? 8This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you. 9A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump. 10I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be. 11And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased. 12I would they were even cut off which trouble you. Philippians 3:19-21 19Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.) 20For our conversation is in heaven; from whence
also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
21Who shall change our vile body, that it may be
fashioned like unto his glorious body, according
to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself. Colossians 2:4-8 4And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words. 5For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ. 6As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: 7Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. 8Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. Colossians 2:20-23 20Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, 21(Touch not; taste not; handle not; 22Which all are to perish with the using;) after the
commandments and doctrines of men?
23Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in
will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the
body: not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh. 1 Timothy 4:1-3 1Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience
seared with a hot iron;
3Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain
from meats, which God hath created to be
received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. 2 Timothy 3:5-13 5Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 6For of this sort are they which creep into houses,
and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led
away with divers lusts, 7Ever learning, and never able to come to the
knowledge of the truth.
8Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so
do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt
minds, reprobate concerning the faith. 2 Timothy 3:5-13 (KJV) Contd. 9But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their's also was. 10But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner
of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity,
patience, 11Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at
Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I
endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me. 2 Timothy 3:5-13 (KJV) Contd. 12Yea,and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. 13But evil men and seducers shall wax worse
and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
2 Timothy 4:3-4 3Forthe time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4And they shall turn away their ears from the
truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
2 Peter 2 (KJV) 1But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason
of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
3And through covetousness shall they with feigned words
make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a
long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not. 2 Peter 2 (KJV) Contd. 4For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; 5And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the
eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in
the flood upon the world of the ungodly; 6And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into
ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making
them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly; 2 Peter 2 (KJV) Contd. 7And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked: 8(For that righteous man dwelling among them,
in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul
from day to day with their unlawful deeds;) 9The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out
of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto
the day of judgment to be punished: 2 Peter 2 (KJV) Contd. 10But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities. 11Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord. 12But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption; 2 Peter 2 (KJV) Contd. 13And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you; 14Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from
sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have
exercised with covetous practices; cursed children: 15Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray,
following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who
loved the wages of unrighteousness; 2 Peter 2 (KJV) Contd. 16But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man's voice forbad the madness of the prophet. 17These are wells without water, clouds that are
carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of
darkness is reserved for ever. 18For when they speak great swelling words of
vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh,
through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error. 2 Peter 2 (KJV) Contd. 19While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. 20For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. 21For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. 22But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire. 1 John 2:18-27 (KJV) 18Littlechildren, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. 19They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. 20But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things. 1 John 2:18-27 (KJV) Contd. 21Ihave not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth. 22Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is
the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the
Father and the Son. 23Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath
not the Father: he that acknowledgeth the
Son hath the Father also. 1 John 2:18-27 (KJV) Contd. 24Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father. 25And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life. 26These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. 27But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. 1 John 4:1-3 (KJV) 1Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 3And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. Jude 1:13-19 (KJV) 13Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever. 14And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, 15To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him. Jude 1:13-19 (KJV) Contd. 16These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage. 17But, beloved, remember ye the words which were
spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
18How that they told you there should be mockers in the
last time, who should walk after their own ungodly
lusts. 19These be they who separate themselves, sensual,
having not the Spirit.
That They Might All Be One 10 • Prophecy concerning demise 1 Corinthians 13.8- 11 “ Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.” That They Might All Be One 10 • Isaiah 28.9 “ Whom shall he teach knowledge? And whom shall he make to understand doctrine? Them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little , and there a little: for with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people” That They Might All Be One 10 • From Reformation to Revival • The Enemy plants his seed, for we see Enlightenment paralelling Reformation • I believe the final act is upon us, the unity that we are speaking of will return “power” to the church and the signs that follow. The prophetic flow of “come let us turn our faces thitherward towards Zion” is a spiritual call going out by the Holy Spirit, just as the Spirit gathered all those to safety in the ark, so it will be in the coming generation. That They Might All Be One 10 • 3. Humanism or the rise of rational man in the sense of autonomous or self governed. • a. Isaiah 59.14-16 “ Judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity (impartial justice, fair dealings) cannot enter. Yea truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey. And the Lord saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment. “ That They Might All Be One 10 • b. The nature of the church is not legislative it is judicial is the sense of discernment of the application of truth. • Legislative thinking has to do with democracy, autocracy, we are members of a kingdom, where kingdom laws are given by a Sovereign King, his word becomes the law. It is this truth and his words that are settled forever in heaven. • The church has the special privilege of knowing and experiencing these kingdom principles because they are the very words and truths that will judge and rule the earth one day. That They Might All Be One 10 • Science has been allowed to press forward even though disregarding accountability in the area of metaphysics. • They have inundated our society with conflict concerning faith and reason, while not considering the foolishness of their own philosophy. That They Might All Be One 10 • I am not afraid of reason or dialectical thinking, or the attack on absolutes, • I am not afraid of science, evolution or the beginning of man • I am not afraid of physiology or behavioral sciences • I am not afraid of naturalist, or environmentalist That They Might All Be One 10 • I am not afraid of the coming one world government, the mark of the beast, or the World Council of Churches in the role of ecuminism • I am afraid of not humbling ourselves before the hand of God and not finishing the work ahead of us. • In short, I am afraid of a self governed people calling themselves the ecclesia of God..
