Merry Christmas
from the staff
and the Paulist Fathers.
We extend a special welcome to all those
visiting for the holidays. Thank you for
worshipping with us.
Guided since our founding in 1912 by the missionary vision of the Paulists, committed to the
mission of Jesus, and dedicated to be welcoming to all, we, the community of St. Philip Neri,
strive to reach out, to reconcile and to promote unity for all
Gods creations through worship, education, and service toward
the common good.
ADVERTISER HIGHLIGHT
Holmans has a long history in
SE Portland and has had a
wonderful relationship with St.
Philip Neri and our parish
members. One of the few
funeral homes left in the area
to remain a family owned
business choosing not to join
one of the large national
corporations. You can be
assured that you will receive
the same compassionate care
and experience that is their hallmark.
Holmans has a long history of supporting St. Philip Neri parish
through bulletin advertising, event sponsorship, and printing
event tickets.
Recently Phil Berger, new Prearrangement Counselor, was
invited to speak at our monthly senior gathering. Phil brought
Dan and Cameron for support and to join us for lunch. Phil talked about the importance of pre-planning especially
gathering vital statistic information needed to complete death certificates and the service they provide to keep this
information on file free of charge regardless of who provides your services can be transferred anywhere. The
information was so helpful that several members suggested a tour of their facility. Holmans opened their doors and a
small group joined them to learn more about their facilities. It is not too late for you to take advantage and learn more.
Contact Holmans to get your personal tour and information session. Or you can contact Rose in the office and she can
get you started. Thank you Dan, Cameron, Phil and staff for your welcome. We look forward to many years of
continuing partnership.

(Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults): For those---Non-Baptized or Baptized in another Christian Faith--- who are
inquiring about the Catholic Faith as part of their spiritual journey. In these weekly sessions we discuss Scripture,
Catholic Traditions, Creeds, Sacraments, Mary and the Saints, Social Justice Teachings..and any issue that the
participants feel important to their journey. This is also a good transition for people who have been away from the
Catholic Faith for any period of time.

fundraising efforts such as themed raffle baskets, we maintain our worship space by providing linens, candles, wine,
hosts and vestments. Our most successful fundraiser is the Michael Allen Harrison concert which always jump starts the
holiday season. The organization is open to all women of the parish and meets on the second Tuesday of each month in
Carvlin Hall. Our meetings are a combination of contemplation, service and enjoyment. For further information please
