Concept: Introduction of Rondalla Instruments


Materials:
a. Pictures and recorded sound of each instruments (Banduria, Octavina,
Guitar, Bass)
b. Video Clip of Rondalla performance of Leron Leron Sinta
c. Projector
Procedure:
a. Greeting: Hello, hello
b. Warm up: My toes, my knees
c. Rhyme or Song: Leron Leron Sinta
d. Motivation:
- Let them watch the video clip of Rondalla performance: Leron
leron sinta
Lesson proper:
- Introduce the instruments by showing pictures and each of
their characteristics
- While the teacher introduces the instruments, let the students
hear the difference of their sound.
- Make a quiz about instruments characteristics
Generalization:
- The Rondalla has become an institution in Philippine music. It
is a distinct contribution to the musical culture of the nation.
The Filipino Rondalla has a wide repertoire ranging from the
simple folk songs to the modern and contemporary tunes as
well as Filipino and foreign classics.

Concept: Conducting
Materials: Ang Bayan Kong Pilipinas & Lupang Hinirang lyrics and
notation
Procedure:
a. Greeting: Hello, hello
b. Rhyme or Song: Akoy Isang Pinoy
c. Motivation: Brief discussion about Conductors of an Orchestra, Choir
and other musical group
Lesson proper:
- Teach the song Ang Bayan Kong Pilipinas & Lupang
Hinirang
- Let the students differentiate the time signature between the
two songs (expecting the Grade 6 students already knew the
topic about time signature)
- Teach them the anacrusis teta principles of conducting
- Let them experience and feel the difference of conducting a
3/4 and a 4/4 time signature
- Make an activity
- After they have learned how to conduct with their hands, ask
for a volunteer to conduct the whole class with the song sing
Ang Bayan Kong Pilipinas & Lupang Hinirang
- Let the class sing the song all together
Generalization:
- The art of directing a musical performance, such as an
orchestral or choral concert, by way of visible gestures with the
hands, arms, face and head is called Conducting.

Concept: 3 Part Singing


Materials: Sing for your Supper notation and lyrics
Procedure:
a. Greeting: Hello, hello
b. Rhyme or Song: Leron leron Sinta
Motivation: Brief discussion about Choral group.
Lesson proper:
- Teach the song Sing for your supper and its 3 different parts
- Make an activity
- Group the class into 3 group
- Assign a part in each group
- Make them sing the song all together
Generalization:
- A Part Singing is an act of singing with three or more voice
parts.
