1. What Happen/What Event took place?
For our project our group decided to work on it early to have free time in our
holiday break so during the end of our last prelim examination we all met up
in Joliebee , hop on a jeep and head straight to our first destination; a parish
called Sacred Heart Seminary in Bacolod City, to our dismay we only got to
interview a few volunteer workers because it was too early but they were
gracious enough to take their time and answer all our questions. Our second
parish called Our Lady of Miraculous Chapel fared much better, we witness
an annual Christmas feeding for the poor kids and the priest and assistants
were kind and warm to all of us. The 3rd church was our last stop and it was
quite interesting the reason being most of them were busy getting their
massages however two old ladies who work in the administer office gave us
an opportunity to help in our research. In the end my group and I had the
most incredible experience traveling to diverse Parishes and to learn from
them. I was quite move by the sense of community that they all shared
together and it was all thanks to the power of GOD.
2. What did we do, say, feel, hear and see?
The group investigate, research, record and ask questions about the history
and events that took place in the church, we participated for the annual
feedings, praise the volunteer workers and leaders for their work they have
done in the community, listen to their emotional journeys in their lives and
felt a sense of joy observing it all.

3. What are some of the lingering images?

The Lingering images that have been implanted in my head are the beautiful
architecture and designs of the churches, childrens laughter and a foreign
priest speaking in Hiligaynon and joking around with us.

4. What will we remember what people share?

I remember one volunteer shared her struggles with cancer and another who had numerous
kids at such a young age and both felt alone until they started to help out in the church and how
happy it made them feel to be finally accepted.

5. What are my immediate thoughts or impression?

My immediate thoughts by the first parish we visited was how close off it was, I was taken aback
and was a bit disappointed in the process until we went to the second parish which were more
down to earth, we arrive while the helpers were preparing food for their annual feedings and
even though it was in a poor and run-down area it didnt stop them from having a good time.

6. What questions, concerns, things that came to our minds when we were conducting
the research?

We were concern on finding participants for our project and also if our questions were
appropriate for the topic

7. How are our own values attitudes, assumptions or past experience influenced the way
we felt or acted in this situation?

As a person who is agnostic in her religious identity I find churches to be mundane its probably
as a result of not understanding what was special about it and now that I had an opportunity to
experience it I am more than willing to be open to attend church and bask in the glory of Jesus
Christ.

8. What do we feel about the whole process, the lesson we have drawn from it?

I felt a profound enlightenment after the involvement and the lesson I learn from it is the church
presents a chance to serve. We often get wrapped up in our own lives that we miss the purpose
to reach out and be more compassionate to others.

9. What responsibility we have as people of faith?

As people of faith God created us in his own image, we are emulated by Gods love into the
world. He wanted to guide his creation through the action of human beings. We are also the
only species on this planet capable of making change for this reason we need to be responsible
of the creation God has given us. When Adam was place in the Garden of Eden it was his job to
tend it therefore we should continue to take care of the wonderful creation God has blessed us
with.

10. What would we like to change about ourselves or the situation

based on what we experience?

I want to have a real meaningful relationship with God and to get to know
him better. I would like to be responsible, compassionate, and appreciative of
everything that has happen to me and most of all I hope to have a purpose in
my life through God.

11. What would we possibly contribute to the building of our local

church?
I would contribute by raising money, enlist in their services and offer myself
in their missionary work.
12. What challenge have we discovered and to which we will
respond.
I believe there will be numerous obstacles that we will face when our church
grows like being asked to give more money than we have in the past, commit our time and
talent in the building process and sacrifice some of our personal time with our family and
friends therefore we will respond by being patient and to work together because in the long
run it will be worth it.
