INTRODUCTION
After understanding the different types of music, students can start appreciating it and even feeling
motivated to create their own. Learning about music is vital because it makes us see our world
magical. Plato once said that music is a more powerful instrument than any other for education.
Recent research has found that music uses both sides of the brain, a fact that makes it valuable in
all areas of development. Music is academic, physical, emotional, and spiritual, music is for life. In
fact, it lasts our entire lives.
DIDACTIC ASSISTANCE
The guide is to be used as a source for the course; nonetheless, other material can be used as
reference to enrich the learning process.
You can use the source of information offered by SLIDE/SHARE, ESPE e-libro, Pro-Quest,
GALE Cengage Learning, Ebsco. Advanced research in Google, Altavista, etc.
It is recommended to work in a gradual and disciplined manner to comply with the deadlines
of the program.
The method of study could be chosen according to your preference. However, it is advisable
to use tables, charts and synopsis charts to have the learning material narrowed down and
more manageable.
Make it a habit to use the dictionary.

Create a video with the Music of four of the most important exponents of
Ecuadorian Music. Select four different styles and upload the video to
youtube.

Find some guidelines about four of these people (Carlota Jaramillo, Duo
Benitez Valencia, Julio Jaramillo, Hnas. Mendoza Suasti, Hnos. Mio
Naranjo, Nelson Dueas, Olmedo Torres, Trio sensacin, Los Reales, Los
Brillantes, Los Diamantes) and their works and create a video (about 5
minutes) in which you depict four different styles (see the textbook) of
Ecuadorian music and their exponents. Finally upload the video to
youtube and copy the link in your guide.
