Scope

For cost reasons, the washers specified herein shall be used only for high-strength prestressed screw connections of property
class 8.8 or 8 in which, due to high interfacial pressure of the components to be screwed together, settling may occur and
lead to prestress reduction. The reasonable application of these washers requires controlled tightening with torque wrench or
the use of hydraulic pretensioning tools.
From the above it follows that indication of the screw tightening torques or pretensioning forces (Standards Book NH, Part 4)
is required on the drawing.

Figure 1 shows a washer. The dimensions are stated in Table 1.

Manufacture

Washers deburred all over according to DIN ISO 13715

and free of rust.

All dimensions without tolerance indication are subject to degree of accuracy as in DIN ISO 2768-1, tolerance class m and
DIN ISO 2768-2, tolerance class H.

Material

Steel having Rm min = 900 N/mm2 , possibly galvanised (VZ), for washers of screws of dia. M6 to M90.
Steel having Rm min = 700 N/mm2 , possibly galvanised (VZ), for washers of screws of dia. M100 to M160.
X6CrNiMoTi17-12-2 according to DIN EN 10088-3
