RELIEF
The Family Relief scheme envisages payment of monthly monetary relief to the
dependants of employees who die in harness while in service due to natural
reasons or due to accidents arising out of and in the course of
employment.
The scheme is optional in lieu of employment and the option for family
relief in lieu of employment once exercised shall be final and irrevocable.
The scheme also covers Contract / INDCOSERVE Employees provided, the
death is due to Industrial Accident.
The scheme shall be implemented in respect of deaths occurring on or after
01-10-1989.
Those eligible for family relief are as under:

On receipt of the committee report, the Employee Services Wing will advise the
claimant to report for document verification on a specific date, which will be done
by a committee constituted under the Chairmanship of Chief of Employee
Services wing.
The required verifications done in Employee Services Wing are as under:
a.
Self Declaration by the claimant & Statement from an serving employee of
the Corporation
b.
Original legal heir certificate is obtained
c.
Age Verification :
i.
In case of claimant being educated Verification with school
authorities with regard to DOB is carried out. In case the DOB is
found to be bogus, the age is arrived as in (ii) below.
ii.
In case of claimant being uneducated the age which ever is
higher in the documents viz. Legal heir certificate / Ration Card /
Voter ID card / Service Book / Service Card / Medical Identification
Book of NLC / Self Declaration is taken into account.
d.
Employment verification : clearance is obtained from the following
departments with regard to any other member of the deceased employee
already working in the Corporation
i. Central Recruitment Cell
ii. INDCOSERVE Society.
After completion of the required verification, approval of the competent authority
is sought and after the approval, family relief sanction order is sent to the
claimant..
On receipt of the sanction order, the claimant is required to approach the H.R
Department concerned where the deceased employee had worked, for getting
the payment of arrears, if any and monthly payment thereafter.
