ON THE MOVE

Dear Friends,
Normally this month you would be receiving
a beautiful Korean Christmas card (which in
my opinion are the most beautiful Christmas
cards in the world) And for some reason
last yeardespite getting
the Christmas cards sent
very early in December
most of you did not receive
your card till March
(ughone of the trials of
living overseas).
Anywayin the last
Tapestry we asked you to pray about our
training center registration. WELL, you must
have been praying because we just received
word today that the first inspection will take
place tomorrow!
So what does that have to do with you
not getting a Christmas card this year?! In
order for the inspection to take place, we
have had to vacate the campus. All of our
students personal belongs had to be packed
and stored in the attics before leaving for
Thailand yesterday. All the staff also have
had to pack all their stuff (except for
furniture) and leave campus for at least two
weeks. The WOLBI offices, classroom and
kitchen have also had to be packed and
stored away. I must say our campus has
never looked better It has been totally
cleaned inside and out!
There were around seven permits that
we have had to obtain in order for our campus

DEC 2015

to be inspection-ready: a
handicap accessible permit, an LPG gas safety
permit, an electricity
safety permit etc. Our
staff as well as students
have
been
awesome
through this whole process. It has definitely
not been easy. It has been a lot of work! But
the last box was put in the attic tonight and
four staff families are comfortably staying
in a condominium just down the hill from our
property. Others have gone to the mainland
to visit family.
So you ask again, What does that have
to do with us not getting Christmas card this
year? Well, I wouldnt be able to find labels
or a printer to print them on if you paid me
right now So I thought it was better to
just allow our home church, Heritage Baptist
in Lynchburg, VA, to print and send out a
letter this year.
As we approach Christmas this year,
our family is somewhat displaced. All of our
decorations are packed at the back of an
attic except for two little
crocheted
stockings
Jean
Hawkins gave Daniel and Abby
and two ornaments we received
from
Community
Baptist
Church in Reidsville, NC. But
what a great opportunity to
focus on what Christmas is all about!

My life is but a weaving between my Lord and me; I do not choose the colors, He works steadily, Oft times He weaves sorrow and I in foolish pride; forget that He sees
the upper and I the underside. Not until the loom is silent and the shuttles cease to fly; will God unfold the pattern and explain the reason why. For the dark threads are
as needful in the weavers skillful hand; as the threads of gold and silver in the pattern He has planned.

Luke 2:4,5 4And Joseph also went

to Judea, to the city of David, which is
called Bethlehem, because he was of the
house and lineage of David, 5 to be registered
with Mary Joseph and Mary had to leave
home for a government registration. God
used that registration to accomplish His own

greater purpose. Jesus also left His home

for Christmas to be born as a human for us
the true reason we should celebrate at
Christmas.
In a sense the Lord has sent us on a
forced vacation. All the students are gone.
We are away from home and cant work on
campus even if we wanted to and are
completely removed from our normal
Christmas trappings. We just dont want to
waste this chance to be refreshed in our
body, mind and spirit and to focus on all God
has done for us through the birth of His Son

and all He has done to bring WOLBI Jeju to

this point.
WOLBI Jeju is such a miracle. Only
the Lord could have brought this about. He
has sent so many volunteers over the past
five years (just when we needed them) to
build and clean and cook. He has also
provided financially each step of the way.
This registration is just one more chance to
watch Him work.
I hope you still have the
pictures of students we sent in
the last Tapestry. Many of
them really do need your
prayers. Some are struggling
deeply with issues of faith and
what they really believe. The spiritual battle
for the hearts of young people has become
especially evident to me this year. Please
pray with us that the Spirit of God will use
the Word of God to penetrate the darkness
and to defeat the enemys lies for the glory
of God and for the advancement of His
Kingdom.
Thank you for
your partnership each
step of the way!

SENDING YOU GOOD TIDINGS AND GREAT JOY FOR 2016!
