The story of Keesh, by Jack London

Jack London, in The story of Keesh, mentions a boy who is called Keesh, and he lives his mother in a
small village. His father had died hunting for food. Nobody gives them good meat. After a meeting, he wants to
hunt for food. Though his wisdom, he completes an impossible mission. He hunts the best meat and wins the
applause of the people. Jack London went on to say, Keesh doesnt get the food; therefore, he decides to go and
hunt alone. Keesh is a boy and people think that he cant hunt meat. As the time passes, Keesh goes back and
hunts three bears. People are very surprised and no people know the reason. One evening, a man asks him how
to hurt three bears thinking that he has witchcraft. He smiles and says, First, make a circle with a short, thin
piece of whale bone. Put the circle of bone inside some seal meat. Put it in the snow to freeze. The bear eats the
ball of meat with the circle of bone inside. When the meat gets inside the bear, the meat gets warm and the bone
goes snap. The sharp points make the bear sick. It is easy to kill then. It is simple." Keesh is just a boy; he dont
have any witchcraft. He change a way to go hunting, and he hunts better than everyone. Due to his wisdom, he
succeeds finally.
In conclusion, the author calls for people who are adept in thinking and changing the way to do something
when people do something is difficult. I completely agree with the author that we must change the way to think.
That is very important key to do anything successfully. Like Keesh, I like to have snowball fights in winter.
Although my skills are not very good, I still can win the game. I know if I use the snowball to attack someone at
the beginning of the game, I will be hit by the snowball and lose the game. Therefore, at the beginning of the
game, I just prevent myself from being hit. As the time passes, people who were hit by snowballs leave the
game. After ten minutes, only three people in the game, including me. Only then do I start to attack people. Its
easy for me to win the game. I just use my wisdom to think and change my way to play. Finally, I win the game.
Like Keesh, he just a boy. In fact, if he uses the common way to hunt the bear, he must fail. However, he
changes his way to think and hunt rather than use the general and difficult way to hunt. I think that he is smart
and successful. I wish the author had described whether others use the Keesh method to hunt bear succeeded.
I really want to know people come up with more methods to hunt or not and what they are. Despite this, I
appreciated the authors use a lot of details and a good example to tell us a truth. We can use that truth in our
daily life. I think that its very useful for everyone, and I would recommend this story to others for that reason.
