Advantages:
Disadvantages:
ASK has very low noise immunity i.e. it is very sensitive to noise.
Bit Error Rate and Probability of Error is higher in ASK.
It is used at very low bit rates upto 100 bits per second.

%generate the square wave in the same

%t is the duration of square wave

Discussion on output
The output waveform generated is shown in the Figure 6.5 which is the
ASK waveform from the message signal and the output of the square wave
generator The amplitude or (presence of signal ) is at places where the input
waveform is high and the logic level at the digital waveform is 1 .
Learning Outcome:
The simplest and most common form of ASK operates as a switch, using the
presence of a carrier wave to indicate a binary one and its absence to indicate a binary
zero. This is known as OOK (On/Off Keying).
ASK is commonly used over optical fiber with light-emitting diode (LED) and
LASER transmitters.
The ASK technique is also commonly used to transmit digital data over optical
fiber. For LED transmitters; binary 1 is represented by a short pulse of light and binary 0
by the absence of light.
