Description:

The learning objectives for this course are to familiarize students with topics in
cognitive psychology including but not limited to: Attention, problem solving,
memory, language processing and visual imagery.

Attendance:

Attendance is highly recommended for all sessions.

Academic Honesty:

Do not cheat or plagiarize the work of others. If you do, you will
receive an F for the exam or assignment.

Grades:

Your grade in the course will be determined by your performance


on 3 exams and 10 quizzes. Each exam is worth 100 points and each quiz is
worth 10 points for a total possible of 400 points for the course. There will be
no extra-credit opportunities available so be sure to do as well as you can on
the exams and the quizzes. No plus or minus grades will be assigned.

Grading scale:

100% - 90% = A
89% - 80% = B
79% - 70% = C
69% - 60% = D
59% - 50% = F

Quizzes:

Each quiz will consist of 10 multiple choice questions. There will be a quiz
each week on most weeks. The quiz questions will be drawn from the lecture
material discussed in class and any assigned readings. Students will have the
ability to make-up missed quizzes provided that they are completed prior to the
next Exam. For example, quiz 1 could be made up before Exam 1 but not after
Exam 1. The maximum possible points for make-up quizzes will be 7 points (as
opposed to 10). Students will earn 0 points for each quiz not made up prior to
the next Exam.

Exams:
Each exam will consist of 50 multiple choice questions. The questions from the exams
will be drawn from the lecture material and any assigned readings. The exam schedule is as follows:
Exam 1 - Friday, September 23rd at 3:00 p.m.
Exam 2 Friday October 28th at 3:00 p.m.
Exam 3 Thursday December 8th at 4:00 p.m.
The questions on the exams will be drawn from the lecture material and any assigned readings.
