In 2005, the Steelers became the first No. 6 seed in NFL history
to win the Super Bowl. Since then two other Wild Card teams
have gone on to win the Super Bowl (10 Green Bay, sixth seed
and 07 Giants, fifth seed).
The Steelers have been shut out only once in the postseason,
during the 1947 Eastern Division Playoff game, Dec. 21, 1947,
versus the Philadelphia Eagles. The Steelers and Eagles
finished that season with 8-4 records and tied for first place in
the Eastern Division. In those days, there was only one NFL
Championship Game, so the two Pennsylvania neighbors
squared off for the right to face the Chicago Cardinals in
the Championship Game. The Eagles won, 21-0, but lost in
the Championship Game, 28-21, to the Cardinals, the same
franchise the Steelers faced in Super Bowl XLIII.

goal. Baltimore WR Michael Campanaro scored on a nineyard run late in the first quarter to give the Ravens a 7-3
advantage.
Pittsburgh scored 10 points in the final 1:37 of the first half,
as RB LeVeon Bell scored on an 11-yard run, and Scobee
made a 36-yard field goal to give the team a 13-7 lead heading into halftime. Bell finished the game with 129 rushing
yards.
QB Mike Vick threw a nine-yard touchdown to WR Darrius Heyward-Bey on Pittsburghs first drive of the second
half to give the team a 20-7 lead. But it would be the last
points Pittsburgh would score.
QB Joe Flacco threw a 15-yard touchdown to WR Kamar
Aiken to cut the lead, 20-14. Tucker made a 40-yard field
goal early in the fourth quarter to cut the lead to just three
points, 20-17.
With three seconds remaining in regulation, Tucker connected on a 42-yarder to tie the game and force overtime,
when he made the game winner.
Pittsburghs defense had five sacks for the second time on
the season.

Game #12
Game #13
PITTSBURGH WR Antonio Browns 71-yard punt return for a touchdown capped off an explosive performance
by the Steelers, as the team beat the Colts 45-10 on Sunday
Night Football.
The game started with three combined turnovers in the first
three minutes. K Adam Vinatieri connected on a 35-yarder to
give the Colts the early 3-0 lead. K Chris Boswell made two
field goals (29 and 51 yards) to give Pittsburgh a 6-3 lead at
the end of the first quarter.
The Colts took a 10-6 lead on QB Matt Hasselbecks nineyard touchdown pass to RB Frank Gore, but it would be the
last points Indianapolis would score.
QB Ben Roethlisberger found Brown for a seven-yard
touchdown to give the Steelers the lead for good, 14-10.
Roethlisberger and WR Markus Wheaton connected on a
five-yard touchdown to give Pittsburgh a 21-10 advantage
at halftime.
On the Steelers first possession of the second half, Roethlisberger threw a 68-yard touchdown to WR Martavis Bryant to extend the lead to 28-10. Roethlisberger and Brown
connected again, this time in the fourth quarter on a five-yard
touchdown to give the Steelers a 35-10 lead.
Boswell made a 42-yard field goal midway through the
fourth quarter to extend Pittsburghs lead to 38-10. Brown
sealed the victory with his punt return for a touchdown.
Brown became the first player in team history to have two
receiving touchdowns and one punt return for a touchdown
in the same game.
CINCINNATI The Steelers defense had three interceptions to help secure a 33-20 victory against the Bengals at
Paul Brown Stadium.
Pittsburgh scored on its opening drive of the game as
RB DeAngelo Williams scored on a one-yard run to give
the Steelers a 7-0 lead. Cincinnati drove to the Pittsburgh
four-yard line on its opening drive, but QB Andy Dalton was
picked off by DE Stephon Tuitt. Dalton would leave the
game due to a right thumb injury.
On the Steelers ensuing drive, K Chris Boswell made a
42-yard field goal to give the Steelers a 10-0 lead. Boswell
connected from 47-yards out midway through the second
quarter to give Pittsburgh a 13-0 advantage.
QB A.J. McCarron connected with WR A.J. Green for a 66yard touchdown to cut the lead to 13-7, but it would be the
closest Cincinnati would get for the remainder of the game.
Boswell made a 45-yard field goal late in the second quarter,
and the Steelers led 16-7 at halftime.
On the Bengals opening drive of the second half, CB William Gay picked off McCarron and returned the interception
23 yards for a touchdown to give Pittsburgh a 23-7 lead. K
Mike Nugents 27-yard field goal early in the third quarter cut
the lead to 23-10. Boswell added a 31-yard field goal early in
