Pre-Reading
1. Motivation (6 mins.)

The name of the activity is Finding My Way Home. The


students will be asked to pick one item from the bowl. This will
identify to what group they belong. They will be blind-folded and will
be asked to sound their corresponding animal. They have to find
their designated groups in three minutes. They will be given
bracelets that will signify their groups. There will be six groups with
at least 3 members each. The group names are as follows:

Orange

Roosters
Yellow Tigers

Black Horses
Red Birds
Green Goats
Blue Snakes


2. Motive Questions (1 min.)
If you will be given a chance to be an animal, what would you
be? Why?

3. Unlocking Difficulties (5 mins.)


The students will be given some pictures of animals. They have
to match the animals with its assigned movement. Then,
everyone will be asked to do the actual movement. Finally, they
will be asked to construct their own sentences using the words.

Actual Reading (9 mins.)
The students will be asked to read a poem using the
presentation prepared by the teacher.
1. The teacher will read the poem first. While the teacher is
reading the poem, some projected images will appear.
2. Then, the students will be asked to read the poem
simultaneously while the teacher is guiding them.
3. Finally, the teacher will call two to three volunteers to
read the poem in front of the class.

The students understanding with the poem read will be


evaluated by playing a game. Different pictures of animals will
be posted on the board and random students will participate.
The student/s will turn around two times and throw a ball on the
board. Afterwards, the animal which the student hit will be the
one that he/she will imitate the movements.

The students will be given an activity about rhyming words. The
teacher will explain what rhyming words are then; give at least
2-3 examples.
