SURVIVE-MIVA Jill Rhodes who spoke about the work of Survive-Miva last weekend wishes to
thank all our Parishioners for the very warm welcome she received at all the Masses. The
retiring collection for Survive-Miva amounted to 812.37. Many thanks.
DECEASED Please pray for Robert Rogers RIP who died recently, his Requiem Mass will be on
Friday, 29th January at 10.00am, followed by committal at Slough Crematorium. Also please pray
for Mena Trethewey who died last week, her Funeral Service will be on Thursday, 28th January
at 1.30pm in St John Baptist Church, Eton Wick. May their souls and the souls of all the faithful
departed rest in peace. Amen

Morning Prayer is prayed before every weekday Mass and the Rosary is prayed after
Mass: all are welcome to join us

YEAR OF MERCY IN OUR PASTORAL AREA There are a number of events taking place in our
Pastoral Area, please try and attend.
Bishop Peter will be leading a Service of Reconciliation (with individual Confession) in
all the Pastoral Areas of the Diocese. On Tuesday, 16th February Bishop Peter will be
at Holy Redeemer Church, Slough at 7.30pm.
Holy Family have asked 8 people to give a short talk about what Scriptural stories
inspire them to do the job they do. The first talk is on Tuesday, 9th February at 7.30pm
and it will be given by a lady in their Parish who is a nurse. All are welcome.
SLOUGH FOODBANK They are now entering their sixth year serving the people of Slough. They
thank Our Lady of Peace parishioners for their donation which they received on 11th January. This
weighed 7.4 kgs and this is equivalent to about 8 individual meals. Also thanks to St Andrews for
their donation received on 12th January, this weighed 102.7 kgs and is equivalent to about 117
individual meals. Your generosity and continued support is greatly appreciated. They would very
much welcome products on their wish list: these are: pasta and curry sauces, sponge puddings,
long life fruit juices, long life milk, rice 500g or 1kg. They have more than enough to meet their
needs of all types of pasta, tins of baked beans, breakfast cereals, please do not include them in
your donation at the present time.

willing to join the team who take Communion to our sick and housebound parishioners

CHURCES TOGETHER IN BURNHAM Week of Prayer service at Burnham United Reformed
Church THIS Sunday, 24th January at 3.00pm.
ST VINCENT DE PAUL meet on Tuesday, 26th January at 2.00pm in the Sacristy. New
members would be welcome. If you know of anyone who would like a visit from the SVP please
advise Yvonne.
SPIRIT AND LIGHT WORSHIP evening will be held at St Andrews, on Friday, 29th January at
8.00pm. The evening, led by Fr Andy, will begin with a teaching and a reflection followed by
praise and prayer. All welcome. Please call Millie on 07957 594646 for further info.
VOCATIONS WEEKEND for young women (20s and 30s) Theme: Discerning God's Call in my
life. Dates: 29th - 31st January 2016. Location: Liverpool. The weekend is organised by the
sisters, Faithful Companions of Jesus (FCJ). There will be input from the FCJ sisters on different
aspects of vowed life, and time for prayer, reflection and discussion with other young women
who are also considering a vocation to religious life. It's an opportunity to live community life for a

CATHOLIC WOMENS LEAGUE Members of the Catholic Women's League will be visiting The
Savill Garden for a walk and refreshments in the cafe on Monday 1st February. We will meet at
Our Lady of Peace Church at 1.30pm to share transport. This is instead of our meeting at St
Andrew's at 2.00pm. All ladies welcome to join us - you do not have to be a member.
FIRST HOLY COMMUNION CLASSES The next session is on
Saturday, 6th February from 9.30am 11.00am at St Andrews
Church, Cippenham. Please continue to pray for our children so
that they will grow in their appreciation of the sacraments of
Confession and Holy Communion.
BISHOP PETER warmly invites you to The Diocesan Mass for Married Life, on Saturday, 13th
February at 12 noon at Holy Ghost Church, 33 Westbourne Road, Luton, LU4 8JD. Praise will
start at 11.30am followed by Mass at 12noon. It has been suggested that travelling to Luton
train station would be advisable due to the lack of parking around the Church. Bishop Peter will
give his pastoral blessing to those couples celebrating significant milestones in their Marriage i.e.
10, 20, 25, 30, 40, 50 years. If you are celebrating such a milestone please contact Eamonn and
Paola McMorrow on 07412 151517 or email mfl@nores.org.uk. All are welcome to attend.
Refreshments available after the Mass.
CONFIRMATION PROGRAM For those who have enrolled for the Sacrament
of Confirmation, there will be a Parents meeting on Tuesday, 23rd February at
7.00pm in Our Lady of Peace Church. The Sacrament of Confirmation will be
conferred by Bishop Peter this year on Tuesday, 21st June at 7.30pm in Our
Lady of Peace.
