was delivered and reviewed and found deficient in many respects.
The consultants has since beem informed of the changes required.

and submitted to the SVP Engineering May 30, 2008. Given that
none of the two tenderes were fully compliant with the prequal
requirements the recommendation presents 4 possible approaches
to be adopted. Instructions have been received and the tender
documents will be ready by July 4, 2008.

Procurement of Steel Pile

Tender documents for the procurement of steel piles and the


repair/reconstruction of beacons have been submitted by the
consultants, Pyramid Jamaica Engineers. Preliminary review has
revealed that several items have been left out of the document. The
Consultants has since submitted a revised document which is now
under review for submission to the legal department. legal dept
review should be completed by June 30, 2008 for invitation of
tenders by July 7, 2008.

Given the estimates provided to date regarding the implementation


cost of approx $171M the SVP Engineering will seek a determination
on the way forward. Tenders document for the implementation of the
works is currently being fianlized for submission to the Legal Dept for

Wo rks on the phase 1 was substantially completed within the eight


(8) project contract period of December 20, 2007 (Sectional
Completion). Final works to the tank yard are being completed for
inspection.

2008. Construction of perimeter wall to tank yard is complete and

Tenders for the completion of the Phase 3 was returned on


November 30, 2007. Evaluation of the tenders was completed and
submitted to the SVP Eng for review. Changes to the report has
been requested. The revised report has been submitted and
endorsed by the Sector Committee and the NCC on June 25, 2008. It
will now be submitted to Cabinet for final approval.

Breakdown of the A/C unit was again reported by the Berth XI Ja


Customs officers on January 9, 2008 Customs reported that one of
the two units was not operating. The contractors has investigated
the problem and is still awaiting the delivery of a new part to
complete executing repairs. The contractor has advised in writing
that the parts are on order and should be on the island in three
weeks. Repair of the unit will commence thereafter.

Construction of the interior offices was complete at the end of April


2008. The office area was handed over to APM TJ on April 24, 2008.
Installation of 4 of the 5 electromagnetic door locks was completed
on May 9, 2008. The repairs to the remaining door was completed on
June 2, 2008 and installation of the lock was carried out on June 13,
2008.

Contract for works to include the connection of the restrooms and


construction of the casual labour force rest rooms is currently being
prepared by the legal department. Signing of the contract was
expected by mid May 2008 however special changes to the
documentation has been requested for review by the SVP Eng.
Preparation and signing of the contract was also expected by mid
June 2008, and implementation there after for completion within 6
weeks however due to delays in the preparation of the contract
document it is now expected by mid July, 2008.
The PAJ received information from APMTJ in relation to the proposed
Berth XI new stripping station operation. Design and tendering of the
casual labour rest room has been completed.

The contractor continues to have problems with obtaining the correct


paint and will now have to request special mix. In the interim painting
to the warehouse exterior - 95%, Interior - 95%, Shutters 25%.
Completion of the work was expected by early May 2008, however
due to unavailablity of the paint required fo finishing the roller
shutters works were delayed. Completion of painting works is
expected by end June 2008. It should be noted however that the
works will not affect the use of the warhouse.

Installation of the water tank is was completed onJune 2, 2008.


Work on the POOL was affected by rain and continued on June 2,
2008, Completeion is expected by for completion by June 20, 2008,
at which time refilling of the pool will commence. Painting to the
pool coping has commenced with the stripping of existing paint and
application of the 1st of two coats. Final coat will be applied on
completion of the pool resurfacing. Painting of the Pood deck will be
completed there after BUDGET PERMITTING.

PROJECT COMPLETE

The Consultant submitted designs for the drainage on September 4,


2007and continues to prepare the detail designs and specifications.
Preliminary Design report submitted by the consultant and this was
forwarded to the stakeholders for review and comments. The detailed
design was scheduled for completion by the end of April 2008.
However given other major department priorities this task has been
delayed, it is however now expected to be completed by the end of
June and the designs by August 2008.

KCT - Straddle Carrier Workshop Extension


KCT has acquired 30 new CSC450 straddle carriers
which are higher than the existing strads. Hence a new higher
workshop is required. The extension is be 4 bays

Meeting held with with the tenants, MBFZ, the consultants and PAJ
to determine the best implementation approach that would impact the
least on the tennant.Based on the discussions PAJ and the
consultant agreed that the project could be completed in phases. The
consultant has indicated that they will require two months to
complete the designs and prepare tender documents. It is anticipated
that the project will be tendered in July contract awarded in August
and phase 1 completed in September while phase 2 will be
completed in January 2009 subject to the availability of the building.
Operations Dept requested to approve the additional expenditure of
$1.7M for consultancy fees. Awaiting response from SVP Operations.

The revised quotations were received and analysed. The completed


tender report was submitted by MML on May 16, 2008. and the report
on Cost reductions submitted on May 22, 2008. Vinci has been
shortlisted as the sole preferred bidder and negotiations are being
held through to May 30, 2008. Vinci submitted a further proposal for
cost reduction as discussed and a further cost proposal based on
option 4 recommended by RCCL on June 19, 2008. This is currently
being reviewed for a final determination on the way forward.

Construction is currently scheduled to commence by the end of July


2008.
Awaiting confirmation of the design requirements from APM
Terminals. This despite renewed attempts to solicit this information
has not been forth coming.

Status

Currently an effort is being made to employ resources outside the


office to complete this task. Project placed on hold pending the
availalbility of adequate resources.
The preliminary design report was submitted and reviewed by the
Engineering Dept and a response generated by April 23, 2008. The
final design and tender document are anticipated to be submitted by
end of June. In the interim the invitations have been placed for
contractors to prequalify and is scheduled to be returned by June 23,
2008. Nine contractors submitted prequalification information and are
currently being reviewed. It is anticipated that the prequal will be
completed by July 4, 2008 and tenders invited by July 7, 2008.

FSU has commenced occupancy of the offices with the delivery of
