LEADER OF THE OPPOSITION

HOUSE OF COMMONS
LONDON SW1A 0AA
PROPOSED LEGISLATION:
Amendment to the Anti-Discrimination Act
OVERVIEW
DEFINITIONS
Public office is defined as the HM Government and anything associated it with it
Public service is defined as the Metropolitan Police Service, the Security Service (MI5), the
Electoral Commission, the Authorised Drivers Agency, or any other group that
self-identifies itself and is commonly known as an agency.
Military is defined as the British Armed Forces and the various branches and divisions of
it.
Victim is defined as a person who believes he/she is on the receiving end of acts that are
deemed illegal.
Accused person is defined as a person accused of committing acts that are deemed illegal.
Banter is defined as the playful and friendly exchanging of remarks.
Whether those remarks would otherwise be interpreted as offensive does not
matter.
SECTION I
Should a person press charges against a person in public office, public service, or in the
military, the person will be suspended indefinitely instead of immediately exiled.
This may only be possible if the victim or other witness(es) have credible and
sufficient evidence to back their claims.
SECTION II
The accused person will be tried in court via the Ministry of Justice and found whether
guilty or not.
If the person breaks the Court Attendance Act, the Court Attendance Act will be
carried out and the person will be declared guilty. The punishments that person will
face is detailed in Section III.
SECTION III
Should a person be found guilty, the person will be immediately exiled from their positions
in public office, public service, or the military. The presiding judge may determine his/her
additional punishments. The maximum punishment that can be served is three weeks in

HM Prison along with being barred from holding any public office, public service, or
position in the military for the maximum of two months.
SECTION IV
Anyone previously sentenced by the Anti-Discrimination Act must still serve the
remainder of their punishment.
This is simply an amendment to the Anti-Discrimination Act. This is not a get out of
free card for people sentenced under the current Anti-Discrimination Act.
SECTION V
Should a person attempt to defend their actions by claiming it was simply banter, the
victim will be consulted on his/her opinions. If he/she recognises that the behaviour was
banter and decides to drop charges (if he/she already pressed charges), then the accused
person will be declared innocent.
PARAGRAPH FROM THE REPRESENTING MP
This act will expand on the already-existing Anti-Discrimination Act and make it
stronger. Legal definitions are included to end any possible confusion over the previous act,
and this will prevent any loopholes within the original act, should there be any.
