While finishing my book, Our
Family Business, I noted how
meticulously the publishers
looked for and closed unintended
gaps within the text during their
final edits. Most of these gaps
were tiny and invisible to the
untrained eye. Nonetheless, in a
book with hundreds of pages,
closing these gaps significantly
reduces the overall page count of
the book, (a plus for any
publisher). Similarly, with the
efficiency of expert editors,
bhakti yogis attentively search for
and close gaps of idle time in
their daily lives. In the course of a
lifetime, such vigilant bhakti yogis
stockpile extra hours, days, and
even years, which they invest in
the journey back to the spiritual
world.

MSF Dates:

Festival and Offering : Sunday, Jan 3rd 2016
Goals:
To distribute at least 80 Srimad Bhagavatam sets
To distribute at least 22,000 Bhagavad Gita's.
To distribute at least 1000 Maha Big hard books.

Highlights of this MSF

Over 200 devotees participated in Sankirtan.
Books were distributed at different festivals like Govardhan
Puja, Pumpkin & Green festival, Cupertino & Pleasanton Diwali
mela, etc.
Multiple teams were formed such as Corporate Sankirtan,
Motel Gita Sankirtan, Weekday Sankirtan, and Kids Sankirtan.
Smart box team had its biggest year distributing 612 books.

Corporate Sankirtan Team:

A colleague was expecting his first child and
his wife wanted to read SB in Hindi. She hails
from the place where Sukhadev Goswami
spoke the Bhagavatam to Parikshit
Maharaja! She got the set thanks to our
Book Ordering team, and a few days later
she delivered a beautiful baby girl. We
visited them again and now the in-laws who
came to help with the birth are getting the
transcendental
vibrations
from
the
Bhagavatam. Thanks to the team that
orders, receives and stacks and then ships
the transcendental literature.

Kids Sankirtan:
Kids presented SB at several homes taking
turns, sang Lord's beautiful pastimes and
made a sincere presentation. The weather
was very cold, most of the homes we were
not invited inside, kids stood in the cold
weather and presented SB. When I asked if
they want to stop since its very cold, they
wanted to to keep going and it seemed they
did not want to stop chanting the glories of
Srimad Bhagavatam.

Day after Thanksgiving Harinaam:
It was a wonderful day on sankirtan as HG
Vaisesika Prabhu returned from the dham
after 6 weeks. Just the presence of Prabhu
felt so purifying in the most passionate
place, Market and Powell Street in San
Francisco. As Prabhu mentioned it felt like an
milk ocean of people and there were some
valuable pearls here and there. Everyone
was going somewhere and no one was
interested in spirituality. But ISV devotees,
almost 35 of them including kids were
determined to churn the ocean to find those
pearls. It was really austere as most of them
would say, "No, Thank you". Then, once in a
while Lord Chaitanya sent some sincere souls
who were looking for spirituality. Devotees
would get surcharged again!

The
best
experience
was
when
Mukharavinda and I met my colleague who
was in melancholy. His apartment was super
clean considering that he is a bachelor, but
his heart was clouded with grief. It was so
satisfying to spend 2 hours with him and
narrate the descriptions of material life as
given in the Bhagavatam. He took a set, and
to our amusement started throwing stuff out
of his home to launch the Bhagavatam.

Haight and Ashbury Sankirtan in San

Francisco:
One ISV team went to San Francisco to
distribute Bhagavad Gita for the pleasure of
Sri Sri Guru and Gauranga!
Many people appreciated our effort and
welcomed the Bhagavad gita in their life.
One person from Pakistan who follows Islam
was very happy upon receiving BG at Union
Square. Also we found that some people just
grabbed the book in hurry and returned to
give donation for the book.
