COURSE OUTLINE:
Introduction to CAD/CAM
Geometric Modeling (Curve, Surface, Solid, Assembly)
Data Exchange/Process Programming
Part Programming
Understanding CAD/CAM packages
* This course is originally designed to teach the theories of CAD/CAM. However, the
course also provides multiple labs for further applications of the theories. The students
who want learn only software should find other courses or study by themselves.
Computer Software: Creo 2.0, Matlab (only for matrices calculation)
Prerequisites:
4600:165 TOOLS FOR MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
4600:360 ENGINEERING ANALYSIS II or permission

Note that this is a rough guide only. Depending on the general performance of the class, changes
may be made.
Homework: Homework problems will be assigned regularly during the semester. The due date will
be given along with assigned problems. Late homework will NOT be accepted.
Examinations: There may be several quizzes and exams. The announcement of the quizzes and
exams will be made 1-2 weeks before the quiz and exam date. The quiz and examination cannot be
made up without a valid, documented excuse.
